Made of gold-plated britannium on a black metal base, it is 13. 5 in ( 34 cm ) tall, weighs 8. 5 lb ( 3. 85 kg ) and depicts a knight rendered in Art Deco style holding a crusader's sword standing on a reel of film with five spokes.

Notable group shows included Midland Art Now featuring the work of 20 of the most prominent Midlands based artists including Roy Abell, Barrie Cook, John Farrington, Dick French, William Gear, Colin Hitchmough, John Melville, David Prentice and Peter Tarrant, and which was accompanied by a full colour printed broadsheet catalogue distributed free to the 40, 000 readers of the Birmingham Post.

For a few years from 1878 the collections of art and the Museum of Arms were moved to Aston Hall after a fire damaged the municipal Public Library and Birmingham and Midland Institute which shared a building in Paradise Street, until the building of the current Art Gallery in the Council House.

He exhibited at the Oakland Museum, DeYoung Museum, California Palace of the Legion of Honor, Crocker Gallery in Stockton, St. Mary's Gallery, Richmond Art Center and the Northwood Gallery in Midland, Michigan.

In 1976 the Unification Church's made its headquarters in New York in the New Yorker Hotel, a 40-story Art Deco building, as well as the one of the first skyscrapers in the world.

Other remarkable examples include Hotel Corso and Berri-Meregalli house, the latter built in a traditional Milanese Art Nouveau style combined with elements of neo-Romanesque and Gothic revial architecture, regarded as one of the last such types of architecture in the city.

The Belz Museum of Asian and Judaic Art, founded in 1988, is located in downtown memphis near the historic Peabody Hotel.

The Bhutan Textile Museum, the National Library, the Peling Hotel, Wangchuck Hotel, the Chang Lam Plaza, the Art Cafe, the Khamsa Cafe, the Swiss Bakery, Yeedzin Guest House, the Mid-Point South Indian restaurant, the Benez restaurant, the Bhutan Kitchen and the sports field are buildings of note around this street area.

In 1969, Lichtenstein was commissioned by Gunter Sachs to create Composition and Leda and the Swan, for the collector's famous Pop Art bedroom suite at the Palace Hotel in St. Moritz.

There are several buildings on the island, the largest being the Art Deco Burgh Island Hotel.

Beck was guest of honor at the 1973 Comic Art Convention and the 1977 San Diego Comic Book Convention, memorabily at the latter he in the evening played guitar serenading fans and guests poolside at the El Cortez Hotel.

The Hotel Saranac is a memorable early 20th century Art Deco structure.

It features many shops and cafés with outdoor eating areas along with some notable architecture, including Tattersalls Hotel, built in the Art Deco style during the 1930s ; Armidale Courthouse ; the city's main Post Office ; the former Commonwealth Bank and the New England Hotel.

Sutherland surrendered to NYPD on 7 May 2009 for head-butting fashion designer Jack McCollough, founder and co-designer of Proenza Schouler, at the Mercer Hotel in SoHo following a fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

An extension to Brown's Golf Course ( and former ice cream factory ) was added in 1944 to disguise pumping apparatus for the Pipe Line Under the Ocean ( PLUTO ) pumping oil to the D-Day beaches, which still stands next to the large Art Deco Grand Hotel.

Many of the landmarks of Newport are in Newport city centre or within a short walking distance of the centre ; the Railway station, Bus station, Castle, Westgate Hotel, Market, Museum and Central Library, Cathedral, Transporter Bridge, Newport Bridge, Newport City footbridge, George Street Bridge, City Bridge, University of Wales, Riverfront Arts Centre, Dolman Theatre, Newport Centre, Civic Centre, Newport Technical Institute ( former Art College ), Shire Hall, Belle Vue Park, Rodney Parade, Newport Crown Court and Royal Gwent Hospital.

The modernisme movement ( related to Art Nouveau ) had an important influence in the architecture of the city in the early 20th century and distinctive buildings such as the modernista Hotel Suís ( 1902 ), Despatx Lluch ( 1908 ) and the Caixa d ' Estalvis de Sabadell ( 1915 ), as well as the Torre de l ' Aigua ( 1918 ) and the Mercat Central ( 1930 ), were built during the first half of the century.

This street also features a number of historic buildings such as the Friendly Pharmacy, old Fire Station, Ritz Hotel and the St George Regional Museum, which houses the cake decorating collection formerly held at the Australian Cakes and Sugar Art Museum.

In inner Melbourne, a considerable post rock scene flourished, with bands like Art of Fighting, Laura, Silver Ray and Gersey playing more subdued music using the traditional guitar / bass / drums structure ; bands in this scene often played at inner-city venues such as the Punters Club and the Empress Hotel.

George also designed, ' The Ambassador Hotel ' next door, built in 1945 in mix of British and Art Deco style.

While many of the unique Art Deco buildings, such as the New Yorker Hotel, were lost to developers in the years before 1980, the area was saved as a cohesive unit by Barbara Capitman and a group of activists who spearheaded the movement to place almost one square mile of South Beach on the National Register of Historic Places.
