Nefaria gains control of the ionic heroes Wonder Man and Atlas who he intends to use to kill the Avengers, but he is stopped by the combined efforts of the Avengers, fellow superhero team the Thunderbolts and Madame Masque, Masque using a weapon she had developed to disrupt Nefaria's own ionic energy.

Another version of Ultron appears ( Ultron-13 ) and is stopped by the West Coast Avengers.

* Namor: During the Avengers vs. X-Men storyline, he became possessed by the Phoenix after Iron Man and Giant-Man try to destroy it, however the fragment left him after Namor was defeated by the Avengers.

When the Avengers arrive on the scene they immediately try to destroy him but the Cube imbues him with nearly unlimited power, making him absolutely invulnerable.

During the events of the 2006-2007 " Civil War " storyline, when Peter and Mary Jane's apartment and Aunt May's house are burned down by Charlie Weiderman, and Spider-Man joins the New Avengers, Mary Jane and Aunt May accompany him to live in Stark Tower.

After letting Chameleon go, Spider-Man secretly places a Spider-Tracer on Chameleon so that he and the Avengers could follow him.

In the DC / Marvel crossover JLA / Avengers, Pietro first appears being brainwashed by Starro when the Avengers battle him.

Kang is furious and swears vengeance, and battles the Avengers to a stalemate, using a Spider-Man robot while Iron Man is briefly away from the Avengers, in a Temple with a nerve gas to weaken them after the robot lures them there by claiming the Masters of Evil have kidnapped Iron Man and taken him to the temple, but the real Spider-Man had found out about the robot with his spider-sense and destroys the robot after deactivating it during an aerial battle.

Later after one of his commanders ( Baltog ) rebels he frees the Avengers to fight with him.

Kang first promises any who aid him on Earth a place in his new order, which puts Earth's defenses and the Avengers under strain as they fight off villain after villain.

Kang then reveals that he is aware of Marcus ' betrayal ( Marcus fell in love with and aided the Avenger Warbird in defeating the Master of the World, thus indirectly aiding in his father's defeat as control of the Master's technology allowed the Avengers to defeat Kang ) and kills him before retreating from Earth.

Attempting to escape his destiny, the young Kang stole his future self's advanced armor and travelled back to the past, forming the Young Avengers based on a security protocol acquired from the databanks of the now-dead Vision when he was unable to contact the now-disassembled Avengers to help him stop Kang.

The character was revived more than twenty years later, explained as having been frozen in a block of ice though believed to be dead, to lead Marvel's latest team of superheroes the Avengers.

The segment's title likely derives from the DC Comics superhero organization The Justice League and its sanitized animated cartoon version, Super Friends, though the team itself was clearly a parody of Marvel's Avengers as the three main characters were loosely based on Marvel Comics characters.

However, Dire Avengers can be outfitted for either melee or ranged combat, though they will not be as able as a more specialized aspect.

Merely one day later, Jameson broke the spirit ( though not the letter ) of his agreement with Iron Man, using the headline " a wanted murderer ( Wolverine ), an alleged ex-member of a terrorist organization ( Spider-Woman ) and a convicted heroin-dealer ( Luke Cage ) are just some of the new recruits set to bury the once good name of the Avengers ," but refraining from attacking Spider-Man.

He also appeared very briefly in the JLA / Avengers intercompany crossover and is shown fighting members of the Shi ' ar Imperial Guard, though the outcome is not shown.

Strucker also briefly joined with Baron Helmut Zemo in a world-conquering plot foiled by the Avengers and Thunderbolts, though Strucker and Zemo parted as foes.
