In the late 1960s, Roy Wood — guitarist, vocalist and songwriter of The Move — had an idea to form a new band that would use violins, cellos, string basses, horns and woodwinds to give their music a classical sound, taking rock music in the direction " that The Beatles had left off ".

However, in the Beatles Anthology series in 1996, the three surviving Beatles confirmed that there was never an idea of having Julian sit in for his father as part of a Beatles reunion, with McCartney saying " why would we want to subject him to all of this?

... reminiscent of the playful, folky moods of The Beatles, Small Faces, and Donovan ( though closer listening would reveal the turmoil within the band and L. A. during the Summer of Love ) ..."

Later rockabilly acts, particularly performing songwriters like Buddy Holly, would be a major influence on British Invasion acts and particularly on the song writing of The Beatles and through them on the nature of later rock music.

Doo wop would be a major influence on vocal surf music, soul and early Merseybeat, including The Beatles.

Travelling circuses, like Pablo Fanque's, dominated the British provinces, Scotland, and Ireland ( Fanque would enjoy fame again in the 20th century when John Lennon would buy an 1843 poster advertising his circus and adapt the lyrics for The Beatles song, Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite !).

He believed that the music of The Beatles warned of the coming holocaust, which he referred to as " Helter Skelter ", after the Beatles song, and also believed that only the " chosen ", his " family ", would survive.

The band became a popular phenomenon, especially in the U. S. where Idle was appearing on Saturday Night Live – fans would send in Beatles LPs with their sleeves altered to show the Rutles.

Collins was born in Paddington, London, the daughter of Elsa Collins ( née Bessant ), a dance teacher and nightclub hostess, and Joseph William Collins ( died 1988 ), an agent whose clients would later include Shirley Bassey, the Beatles and Tom Jones.

One memorable aspect of the show was the regular closing number, where Johnny Young would croon a ballad version of The Beatles ' song " All My Loving " ( with which Young had had an Australian hit in 1966 ), accompanied by the entire cast, in an almost lullaby style, individually wishing all of the cast good night.

Other bands, including The Moody Blues, The Rolling Stones, and The Beatles would go on to add it to their records, both to provide sound effects and as a musical instrument in its own right.

Musically speaking, the most logical candidate for a " Fifth Beatle " would be the Beatles long-time producer, George Martin, who for six years contributed directly and often to the Beatles ' recordings.

Pete Best joined Lennon, McCartney, Stuart Sutcliffe and Harrison on the eve of their Hamburg sojourn, the five using the monikers, " The Silver Beetles " and " The Silver Beatles " ( they would experiment with " The Beat Brothers " and ultimately " The Beatles " while in Hamburg with Best ).

Sutcliffe's input was, however, an important early influence on the development of the band's image ; Sutcliffe was the first to wear what would later become famous as The Beatles ' moptop hairstyle, asking his girlfriend Astrid Kirchherr to cut his hair in emulation of the hairdo worn by friend Klaus Voormann.

A close personal friend of Pete Best ( he actually lived in Best's house and fathered his youngest brother, Roag ), Aspinall would join The Beatles as their road manager, which included driving his old Commer van to and from shows, both day and night.

Music critic Stephen Thomas Erlewine of Allmusic said, " It was inevitable that the constant grind of touring, writing, promoting, and recording would grate on the Beatles ," leading to the inclusion of several cover versions after the all-original A Hard Day's Night ; the band's visible weariness on the album's cover is noted by narrator Malcolm McDowell during The Compleat Beatles.

The Beatles had to share the studio with classical musicians, as McCartney would relate in 1988: " These days you go to a recording studio and you tend to see other groups, other musicians ... you'd see classical sessions going on in ' number one.

The Beatles ' road manager, Neil Aspinall, later reflected: " No band today would come off a long US tour at the end of September, go into the studio and start a new album, still writing songs, and then go on a UK tour, finish the album in five weeks, still touring, and have the album out in time for Christmas.

Hawn also performed a cover version of the Beatles ' song, " A Hard Day's Night ", on George Martin's 1998 album, In My Life.

The photo inside the gatefold cover showed The Beatles standing in front of a montage of photos, which some have assumed was the source of inspiration for the cover of Sgt.

Another of his tunes, " Matchbox Blues ", was recorded more than 30 years later by The Beatles, albeit in a rockabilly version credited to Carl Perkins, who himself did not credit Jefferson on his 1955 recording.
