Bleed Like Me was released worldwide on April 11, selling 27, 375 copies in its first week to debut at # 4 on the UK album chart.

Bleed Like Me also debuted in the Top Tens in Australia, Greece, France, Sweden, Japan, Hong Kong, Belgium and Canada.

In its second week in the United States, Bleed Like Me dropped twenty places to # 24, on sales of 32, 000.

On September 11, FMR released a Bleed Like Me special edition with a bonus DVD for the Australian market.

ARIA certified Bleed Like Me gold for shipping 35, 000 units in its first three weeks.

" Shut Your Mouth " was retained in Garbage's live set for both 2005's Bleed Like Me tour and 2012's Not Your Kind Of People World Tour.

" Why Do You Love Me " is a 2005 song written, performed and produced by alternative rock band Garbage and was released worldwide as the lead single to promote their fourth studio album Bleed Like Me.

" Why Do You Love Me " propelled the Bleed Like Me album to the top five in Australia, United Kingdom and in the United States, where the album debuted at a career-high # 4.

Garbage had quietly disbanded during the sessions for Bleed Like Me in October 2003, before reforming to make a fresh start on the album early the next year.

Garbage's record company were keen to release " Why Do You Love Me " as the lead single for Bleed Like Me ; the band agreed.

Three weeks later, in the wake of the release of Bleed Like Me, " Why Do You Love Me " rebounded to # 8.

Garbage support the Bleed Like Me album, and the " Why Do You Love Me " single from March 29 with a European promotional campaign that includes three live dates in Paris, London and Cologne ; a performance of the song and the band's debut single, " Vow ", on an XFM radio session ; and a notably large number of televised performances of " Why Do You Love Me " on CD: UK, Popworld, Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, Top of the Pops, Napster Live in the United Kingdom and on Album de la semaine, 20h10 petantes and Traffic music in France.

The set includes " Why Do You Love Me ", and is the last TV recording of the song of the initial campaign as follow up single " Bleed Like Me " is released in May.

Later in September of that year, Garbage wrap up touring and promotion for the entire Bleed Like Me album with a short Australian tour that includes a performance of " Why Do You Love Me " on Rove Live.

" Sex Is Not the Enemy " was a single released from Garbage's fourth album Bleed Like Me in June 2005 in United Kingdom.

It was released as joint-second single from the album — around the same time the song " Bleed Like Me " was released in the U. S. and there was a parallel release for " Run Baby Run " in Australia and Europe.

On May 25, Garbage confirmed a list of 14 songs being worked on for the record, including " Sex Is Not the Enemy ", and on December 14 confirmed that the song would be included on the finished album Bleed Like Me.

On April 10, " Sex Is Not the Enemy " was confirmed by Garbage drummer Butch Vig confirmed to fans in Los Angeles that the track would be the second UK single taken from Bleed Like Me.

In September 2005, " Sex Is Not the Enemy " was released to Australian radio up-front of the band's September 21 Australian tour Canberra debut show ; and on September 11 FMR released a Bleed Like Me special edition with a bonus DVD, which included the " Sex Is Not The Enemy " promo video and " making of " documentary.

In June 2010, the tracklisting for We All Bleed was revealed, and the first single, " Killing Me Inside ", was released along with a music video.

Bleed for Me ( B-side " Life Sentence ") was the sixth single by punk rock band Dead Kennedys.

" Bleed for Me " also plays in the background of the Dead Kennedys ' song " Kinky Sex ( Makes the World Go ' Round )," in which an aide for the Reagan White House arranges World War III on the phone with Margaret Thatcher, who moans erotically at every new atrocity ; this track may be a reference to the Thatchergate tape.
