The Bluetooth logo consists of the Nordic runes for his initials, H and B ( Long-branch runes version ).

Bluetooth is a proprietary open wireless technology standard for exchanging data over short distances ( using short-wavelength radio transmissions in the ISM band from 2400 – 2480 MHz ) from fixed and mobile devices, creating personal area networks ( PANs ) with high levels of security.

The Bluetooth Special Interest Group ( SIG ) is the body that oversees the development of Bluetooth standards and the licensing of the Bluetooth technologies and trademarks to manufacturers.

These devices include Bluetooth headsets, hands-free car kits ( HFCK ), and personal navigation devices ( PND ).

To reduce the cost of the Sidekick iD, the creators, ( Sharp ), removed some of the features of the Sidekick 3, including the 1. 3 megapixel camera, the Bluetooth capability, and its media player.
