This form of the Apostles ' Creed can be found incorporated into the Eucharistic and Baptismal Liturgies in the Hymnal and in The United Methodist Book of Worship, and hence it is growing in popularity and use.

This practice was last seen in The book of Worship for Church and Home by The United Methodist Church, 1965, and The Book of Hymns, 1966.

The United Methodist Book of Worship and The Hymns of the United Methodist Church are voluntarily followed in varying degrees.

The Book of Order is currently divided into three sections-1 ) Form of Government, 2 ) The Directory For Worship, and 3 ) The Rules of Discipline.

The session of the local congregation has a great deal of freedom in the style and ordering of worship within the guidelines set forth in the Directory for Worship section of the Book of Order.
