The clock tower ( referred to as " Town Clock ") is equipped with a ship's signal bell system.

For over half a century, Columbia has been home to the headquarters of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors ( NAWCC ), whose campus on Poplar Street includes a clock tower, clock museum, library, research center, and " School of Horology ," for training professional clock and watch repairers.

His papers can be found in the library there, and the University's clock tower is named the Joseph Chamberlain Memorial Clock Tower or more commonly ' Old Joe ' or ' Big Joe '.

In 2010, the university formally honored Lucy, Hood and Malone by rechristening the plaza in front of Foster Auditorium as Malone-Hood Plaza and erecting a clock tower – Autherine Lucy Clock Tower – in the plaza.

Another university clock tower bearing a resemblance to the Campanile is the Joseph Chamberlain Memorial Clock Tower at the University of Birmingham, England, which is modelled on the Torre del Mangia in Siena.

At the center of Termina lies Clock Town, which features a large clock tower that counts down the days before the Carnival of Time — a major festival where the people of Termina pray for good luck and harvests.

Epsom Clock Tower was built in 1847, replacing the watchhouse which stood from the 17th century, and was built to 70 feet of red and suffolk brick, with heraldic lions of Caen Stone at the four corners of the tower base.

The Clock Tower Square is a recently renovated square surrounded by shops and restaurants.

During 2011, the Clock Tower underwent a major refurbishment job which saw the replacement of several components of the bell chiming system.

* Father Time, complete with scythe, is the central figure in the Rotunda Clock by John Flanagan, located in the rotunda of the Thomas Jefferson Building of the U. S. Library of Congress in Washington, D. C ..

The two couples then bid down from a base time of two minutes to see who could complete the stunt in the fastest amount of time, and bidding continued until one team challenged the other to " Beat the Clock ".

Unlike the show's familiar parody of The $ 64, 000 Question ( The $ 99, 000 Answer ), Gleason's Beat the Clock episode used the actual show and set, complete with the familiar large minute clock emblazoned with sponsor Sylvania's logo, and ending with Collyer and his famous sign-off: " Next time may be your time to beat the clock.
