In the winters of 1934-35 and 1935 – 36, the California anchored off Point Dume in Paradise Cove, processing gray whales.

Communities located within the borough include: Akutan, Belkofski, Cold Bay, False Pass, King Cove, Nelson Lagoon, Pauloff Harbor, Sand Point, and Unga.

Salmon and pacific cod processing occur at Peter Pan Seafoods ( Port Moller and King Cove ), Trident Seafoods ( Sand Point and Akutan ), and Bering Pacific ( False Pass ).

From Sand Point the ferry goes to King Cove, Cold Bay, False Pass and Dutch Harbor.

Bulldozers were used to cut a road from Baxter Cove to Theodore Point.

It is bordered by the Pacific Ocean on the southwest, Crystal Cove State Park on the northwest, Laguna Woods on the northeast, Aliso Viejo and Laguna Niguel on the east, and Dana Point on the southeast.

To the west of Clark's Point is Clark's Cove, which extends landward approximately one and a half mile from the bay.

To the west of Converse Point is Aucoot Cove, where Aucoot Creek and Borden's Brook empty into the bay.

To the east of Sippican Neck is Wings Cove, which separates the neck from Great Hill Point.

To date, completed segments in Hoboken and the new parks and renovated piers that abut them are at Hoboken Terminal, Pier A, the promenade and bike path from Newark to 5th Streets, Frank Sinatra Park, Castle Point Park, Sinatra Drive to 12th to 14th Streets, New York Waterway Pier, 14th Street Pier, and 14th Street north to southern side of Weehawken Cove.

* Toad Hole Cove – A small bay at the southwest part of Point Peninsula.

The Coast Guard, through its Southcoast Commander, Captain Ray Nash, determined in October 2007 that the LNG facility proposed for Weaver's Cove not be constructed, citing problems with navigating large tankers through and around the Brightman Street Bridge.

Coos Bay is the proposed site of a liquefied natural gas ( LNG ) terminal by Jordan Cove Energy Project.

There is a maintenance yard in Sechelt that serves the Sunshine Coast area from the Langdale Ferry Terminal to the Earls Cove Ferry Terminal.

Interbay is also home to Fishermen's Terminal on Salmon Bay and the Port of Seattle's Piers 86, 90, and 91 on Smith Cove.

The then ( 1911 ) new Port of Seattle built Fishermen's Terminal on Salmon Bay at the north end of Interbay and bought the Great Northern docks and approximately at Smith's Cove, where they developed two new coal and lumber piers, today's Piers 90 and 91.

Interbay today remains home to BNSF Railway's Balmer Yard and related locomotive maintenance shops, the Port of Seattle's Fishermen's Terminal on Salmon Bay and Piers 86, 90, and 91 on Smith Cove, and related facilities.

Among its facilities are the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport in SeaTac, Washington ; the Shilshole Bay Marina ; the Maritime Industrial Center and Fishermen's Terminal on Salmon Bay ; cargo terminals and a grain elevator on Smith Cove ; and numerous cargo terminals on Elliott Bay, Harbor Island, and the Duwamish Waterway.

East of the Palisades, the elevated structure to Exchange Place Terminal has been largely torn down, as has the elevated structure to Harsimus Cove ( with the exception of the embankment ), but PATH follows the alignment of the former underground.
