DAB broadcasts of the station began in the east of the country ( on the Clermont Carn and Three Rock Mountain high power transmitters via the RTÉ DAB Multiplex ) on 1 January 2006.

Since 31 March 2003, DAB signals have come from the NOW Digital Norfolk 11B multiplex, with transmitters at Great Yarmouth, Oulton ( Lowestoft in Suffolk ), Stoke Holy Cross, Thetford, and West Runton.

Of all the DAB transmitters, Stoke Holy Cross is the most powerful, at 1. 1 kW.

The Bakers Wood transmitter also has Essex FM on 102. 6FM, and is one of the DAB transmitters.

DAB signals, since 20 May 2002, have come from the Essex 12D multiplex, which has transmitters at Maitland House ( Southend-on-Sea town centre ), Colchester, Sudbury ( in Suffolk ), and Rye Hill ( south of Harlow-on a water tower ).

Services over most of the area come from the nearest BBC DAB transmitters at Sutton Coldfield and Waltham, plus Holme Moss in the north.

The DAB signals come from the Bauer Humberside 11B multiplex from three transmitters at Cave Wold ( most powerful, three miles south of High Hunsley, and a BT microwave transmitter which also has the MXR Yorkshire multiplex ), Buckton Barn ( Bridlington, also has Yorkshire Coast Radio on 102. 4 ) and Bevan Flats ( Grimsby, also transmits Compass FM on 96. 4 ).

DAB radio signals have come from the Bauer South Yorkshire 11C multiplex from the transmitters at Clifton ( next to the M18 east of Rotherham ) and Tapton Hill ( Sheffield ) since November 2000.

The Kendal, Morecambe Bay and Sandale transmitters have BBC National DAB, as well as a transmitter at Penrith Beacon.

Since 1995, the tower has been one of five London transmitters for the BBC DAB multiplex.

Apart from television, FM Radio and DAB transmitters, and microwave relays, the tower also contains meteorological instruments, two 100 m < sup > 3 </ sup > drinking water reservoirs, and a meeting / conference room near the top of the concrete structure.

The transmitter broadcasts six digital television multiplexes, as well as VHF or FM transmitters for the four BBC national stations, independent national station Classic FM, four local commercial radio stations ( BRMB, 100. 7 Heart FM, Kerrang 105. 2 and Smooth Radio ), the BBC's local service WM and DAB ( Digital Audio Broadcasting – i. e. Digital Radio ).

Based in Ayr with its transmitters in Darvel, East Ayrshire ( 96. 7 and DAB ), Girvan, South Ayrshire ( 97. 5 ) and Toward Point, Argyll and Bute ( 106. 7 ).

The station is available on DAB, thanks to eight transmitters throughout the West Midlands on the MXR 12A multiplex, with strong signals from The Wrekin and Ilmington in south Warwickshire.

The station is available on FM transmitters in Scotland with its service licence stating that " BBC Radio nan Gàidheal should be available every day for general reception across Scotland on FM "; it can also be heard on digital television platforms, DAB Digital Radio, and online.

This currently consists of transmitters for DVB-T digital television, analog FM radio, and newer DAB and DMB digital radio.

The DVB-T digital TV standard ( and related DAB digital audio standard ) used throughout most of the rest of the world is more challenging — transmitter powers are lower, and many networks are set up in a " single frequency network " mode, in which all transmitters are synchronised in time and frequency.

A planned DAB transmitter for Stamford ( in south Lincolnshire ) was not launched for this multiplex.

A further DAB transmitter at Trent View Flats was planned as a later possibility when the licence was awarded in December 2000.

Two further Jack-FM stations were planned on DAB digital radio from 2008 for Northamptonshire and Northeast Wales and West Cheshire but by Aug. 2009 were a year late with no indication of an ETA.

The Secretary of the Navy is a member of the Defense Acquisition Board ( DAB ), chaired by the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics.

Because channel 9A is not used for television services in or near Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide or Perth, digital radio in those cities are broadcast on DAB frequencies blocks 9A, 9B and 9C.

The Eureka Project 147 resulted in the publication of European Standard, ETS 300 401 in 1995, for DAB which now has worldwide acceptance.

The DAB standard uses the MPEG-1 Audio Layer II ( ISO / IEC 11172-3 ) for 48 kHz sampling frequency and the MPEG-2 Audio Layer II ( ISO / IEC 13818-3 ) for 24 kHz sampling frequency.

With the increased rollout of Digital Audio Broadcasting ( DAB ) between 1995 and 2002, BBC Radio launched several new digital-only stations BBC Radio 1Xtra, BBC Radio 6 Music and BBC 7 in 2002 on 16 August, 11 March and 15 December respectively — the first for " new black British music ", the second as a source of performance-based " alternative " music, the latter specialising in archive classic comedy shows, drama and children's programmes.

The most simple system is named DAB Digital Radio, for Digital Audio Broadcasting, and uses the public domain EUREKA 147 ( Band III ) system.

A 24-hour station for classical music, Alltid Klassisk ( now called " NRK Klassisk "), introduced in 1995, was the first of its kind to be broadcast digitally using DAB.

FSS systems provide various applications for subscribers, including: telephony, fax, television, high speed data communication services, Internet access, Satellite News Gathering ( SNG ), Digital Audio Broadcasting ( DAB ) and others.

Their stance in universal suffrage was then similar to that of the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment of Hong Kong ( DAB ); namely, that universal suffrage should be implemented in or after 2012 rather than in 2007 / 8.

The transmitter for Compass FM and EMAP Humberside ( Lincs FM DAB ) is on top of a block of flats in East Marsh.

While the United Kingdom has chosen the Eureka 147 standard of digital audio broadcasting ( DAB ) for creating a digital radio service, the United States has selected IBOC technology for its digital AM and FM stations.

The band used for terrestrial DAB in the UK is part of VHF band III, which does not suffer from L-band's significant line-of-sight problems.

The typical bandwidth for DAB programs is only 128 kbit / s using the first generation CODEC, less-robust MP2 standard which requires at least double that rate to be considered near-CD quality.

It is the new DAB + implementation which will be under consideration for new station designs and not the earlier DAB scheme using the MUSICAM CODEC.

A Channel 4 operated DAB multiplex is proposed, but there are currently no proposals to broadcast any of the three insular FM stations on DAB.

Since September 2006 the LBC 97. 3 station has been available in other parts of the country on the digital DAB platform, after Chrysalis bought out its partners and closed the Digital News Network rolling news station that had previously been carried on the MXR multiplex.

DAB broadcasts from Fishpond's Hill began on 21 July 2006 with the NOW Nottingham multiplex, subsequently the Digital One and BBC National muxes were also added ( during 2006-07 ) to give excellent digital radio reception across the town.

* Talk Radio was set to return to the airwaves as a station on DAB digital radio in 2008 after Ofcom awarded a second DAB digital radio national commercial multiplex to the 4 Digital Group consortium led by Channel 4.

For the north-east of the county near Oundle, the Peterborough transmitter has Radio Cambridgeshire on DAB from a NOW Digital multiplex.

The transmitter at Daventry on Borough Hill has BBC National DAB, Digital One 11D and an MXR West Midlands 12A multiplex ( since August 2001 ).

The Madingley transmitter also carries national FM BBC radio, analogue Five television, Digital One, BBC National DAB, Heart Cambridgeshire and Kiss 105-108 East on 105. 6FM as well as the NOW Cambridge DAB multiplex.

Since 31 July 2004, DAB broadcasts have come from the NOW Digital Berkshire & North Hampshire 12D multiplex from Coppid Beech ( at the junction of the B3408 and A329 ( M ) in west Bracknell ), Hannington and Hemdean ( just north of Caversham ).

For Lincolnshire, a DAB multiplex could have only been realistically established by financial investment from the Lincs FM Group, and other transmitter positions could theoretically be used.

Since 30 April 2004, the station has been available on DAB from the NDEM ( NOW Digital East Midlands ) Nottingham 12C multiplex from Waltham ( main signal and in Leicestershire ), Mapperley Ridge and Fishponds Hill ( since July 2006 ).

Since the station is carried in gifted space on a commercial DAB multiplex, rather than a BBC-controlled multiplex, the situation had come about due to a combination of legislation, internal politics, and difficulty in actually changing the name on the DAB transmissions.

Since 2001 Radio Leeds has been carried on the Bauer Leeds DAB multiplex, and since October 2002 on the UTV EMAP Bradford, Huddersfield and Halifax Multiplex.
