The presence of the Belgian Jacky Ickx who had a minor role in 1967 ( driving only at the Nürburgring — also in an F2 car — and at Monza ) is also noteworthy in this regard.

For Christmas 2011, a new single seater mod came available. The F2 1967 Mod provide new accurate cars shapes, drivers, car sounds and physics. The Formula 2 physics were intended to get close racing online, with most of the cars sharing the same Ford Cosworth FVA 1600cc engine. Despite this, as others GPL mods, the F2 mod benefit of the extended 11 different cars slots with their individual handling. In 1967, drivers took part in no less than 23 Formula 2 races.

Powered by a Cosworth BDA engine Mike Hailwood convincingly won the 1972 European F2 Championship in this car.

The Latham F2 used the Dolomite mechanicals ( usually Sprint ), but attached to a fibreglass sports car body.

F2 went into decline with the arrival of the 2. 5 L F1 in 1954 ( with small-capacity sports car racing becoming particularly popular ), but a new Formula Two was introduced for 1957, for 1. 5 L cars.

F2 / 4 followed in construction and was sold, before Peter Whitehead placed an order for what was to become the last Alta car built: F2 / 5.

In July, as the top seed in consecutive weeks in Bucharest, he reached the final at Romania F1 and won the F2 Futures event to improve his ranking to No. 319.
