From Bogø another causeway connects to the small island of Farø, which acts as the centre point for the Farø Bridges carrying the motorway between Zealand and Falster.

Further to the east are the two Farø Bridges ( the 1, 726 meter long Farø High Bridge and the 1, 596 meter long Farø Low Bridge ) which opened in 1985.

Falster is connected to the larger island of Zealand to the north by the Farø Bridges ( Farøbroerne ) on European route E47 linking Copenhagen to Hamburg and the south.

Its position was reinforced by the construction of the Storstrøm Bridge ( 1937 ) and Farø Bridges ( 1985 ).

The two bridges previously formed the major road and rail link between the two larger islands, but the road link has now been replaced in this role by the larger Farø Bridges, which cross the strait via the island of Farø.

It was the main road connection between the islands until the Farø Bridges were opened in 1985.

The Farø Bridges ( Danish, Farøbroerne ) are two road bridges that connect the islands of Falster and Zealand in Denmark by way of the small island of Farø which is approximately mid-way across the Storstrømmen sound.

The Farø Bridges were opened by Queen Margrethe II on 4 June 1985.

The Farø bridges join on the small island of Farø, and from there a further bridge gives access to the eastern neighbouring island of Møn.

A smaller bridge from Farø provides access to Bogø and thence to the island of Møn.

There are a number of islands in the waters off Møn, including Nyord and Bogø, the smaller island of Farø, as well as the islands of Langø, Tærø and Lilleø off the coast of Zealand.

The north Farø bridge has a span of 1. 5 km, the south bridge a span of 1. 7 km with a 290 metre central span for shipping.

The Rachel Carson Bridge is one of the " Three Sisters " Bridges, opened between 1926 and 1928, and designed by County architect Stanley L. Roush and the Allegheny County Department of Public Works.

Bridges erected across the Thames encouraged growth ; Putney Bridge, a mile ( 1. 6 km ) to the west, was built in 1729, and Battersea Bridge in the centre of the north boundary in 1771.

It features one of his ( impressive for the period ) engineering works, the Three Bridges ( although it is still often referred to on maps by the original canal crossing name of Windmill Bridge ).
