Fowey to Mevagissey Passenger Ferry is a timetabled summer service between Fowey and Mevagissey leaving Whitehouse Slip.

By 1886, the railroad was operating ferries to Elizabeth and Perth Amboy Ferry Slip.

For many years the Kill was traversed by ferry between Tottenville and the Perth Amboy Ferry Slip.

During the colonial period and for a significant time thereafter, Tottenville was an important way-station for travelers between New York City ( of which Staten Island did not formally become a part until 1898 ) and Philadelphia, as it was the site of a ferry that crossed the Arthur Kill to the Ferry Slip in Perth Amboy, New Jersey.

The Terminal Lunch stand, later called the Ferry Slip Cafe opened around the same time.

Lamb's Ferry became an important river port where boats from Knoxville and other points on the upper Tennessee River would unload supplies that were taken over land to areas around Pulaski, TN.

While PSO initially wooed the citizens of Inola with the promises of economic growth and better schools, after the Three Mile Island accident, and accidents at the Browns Ferry Nuclear Power Plant, the people became disillusioned with the idea of housing such a facility in their backyards.

Newberrytown was situated on the road from Lancaster to Carlisle ( which crossed the Susquehanna River at the York Haven Ferry ) and became an important stopping place along the way.

Since the road crossed the Little Tennessee at the Morganton Ferry, the road became known to Blount Countians as Morganton Road.

From around this time, the crossing became known as the Queen's Ferry.

Originally founded as Boones Landing due to the Boones Ferry which crossed the Willamette River at the location, the community became Wilsonville in 1880.

Larkspur is the location for one of Golden Gate Transit's Larkspur Landing, the main ferry terminal for its commuter passenger ferry service between Marin County and the San Francisco Ferry Building and job centers in the Financial District.

The only remaining medieval entrance gate of Schoonhoven is the Veerpoort ( Ferry Gate ) next to the Lek River ( see external link 4 ).

The bus system is commonly known today as Golden Gate Transit ( GGT ) and the ferry system is known as Golden Gate Ferry ( GGF ).
