The Kiowa leaders Satanta, Lone Wolf, and Black Eagle had moved their villages to the Fort Cobb area.

Fort Cobb Reservoir is a reservoir located in Caddo County in the U. S. state of Oklahoma.

The towns of Carnegie, Fort Cobb, and Eakly are located nearby.

Fort Cobb Dam is on Cobb Creek about 5 miles ( 8 km ) north of Fort Cobb, and roughly above the confluence of Cobb Creek with the Washita River.

Fort Lewis College underwent another period of growth and changes starting in 1956, when the college moved from its long-time home in Hesperus to its present location, 18 miles east, atop what was then known as Reservoir Hill, overlooking Durango.

Fort Peck draws people from hundreds of miles away to recreate around Fort Peck Reservoir.

Lahontan Reservoir, Lahontan State Recreation Area and historic Fort Churchill State Historic Park are all located nearby.

He was going to settle near the confluence of the Bow and Elbow Rivers in 1875 but, when the North-West Mounted Police arrived and established Fort Calgary, Livingston and his family moved further up the Elbow River to the current location of the Glenmore Reservoir.

To supply of water from Glade Reservoir, significant quantities of water would be diverted from the Poudre River above the city of Fort Collins, Colorado.
