Göta Canal is a sister canal of Caledonian Canal in Scotland, which was also constructed by Thomas Telford.

The Trollhaette Canal () is a canal in Sweden that is now part of the Göta Canal.

The river and the canal is part of a mostly inland waterway, Göta Canal, which spans the width of Sweden to the Baltic Sea south of Stockholm.

Roxen is a medium-sized lake in south central Sweden, east of lake Vättern, part of the waterpath Motala ström and the Göta Canal.

In the early 19th century, the Göta Canal was constructed in parallel with Motala ström.
