Within this watershed, Black Brook, Great Brook, Loantaka Brook, Primrose Brook, and the Upper Passaic River combine their waters in the Great Swamp to form the Passaic River, which exits the swamp via the Millington Gorge.

Other streams in the area include the Burbage Brook, which runs down from Burbage through Padley Gorge and into the River Derwent near Grindleford station.

Goram began digging the nearby Hazel Brook Gorge in Blaise Castle estate, but consumed too much beer and fell asleep.

Good places to camp along the Opalescent River or Feldspar Brook, Panther Gorge, Slant Rock or other places in the Johns Brook Valley.

Cascade Locks is also a few miles upstream of Eagle Creek Gorge, a popular scenic area that doubles as an alternate route for the Pacific Crest Trail.

The Guest River Gorge Trail, built along the Guest River on what was formerly the Interstate Railroad is also located in the Jefferson National Forest and is a popular place to walk or ride a bicycle.

The Gennett Walk of Fame is located along South 1st Street in Richmond at the site of the Starr Piano Company and embedded in the Whitewater Gorge Trail, which connects to the longer Cardinal Greenway Trail.

The Mark O. Hatfield Memorial Trail starts at the falls and continues through the Oregon side of the Columbia River Gorge to Starvation Creek.

It is the terminus of the Taieri Gorge Railway, and the start of the Otago Central Rail Trail.

The nature trails in the park include Gorge Trail, which follows the Buttermilk Creek as it cascades dropping about 500 feet along the trail.

Gorge Trail is complemented by Rim Trail on the other side of the creek, which make for a loop of about 1. 5 miles.

The best view of the falls are along the Gorge Trail, although the creek loses much of its flow whenever rain is scarce.

In the middle 19th century, the Blue Mountains were a formidable obstacle on the Oregon Trail and were often the last mountain range American pioneers had to cross before reaching either southeast Washington near Walla Walla or passing down the Columbia River Gorge to end of the Oregon Trail in the Willamette Valley near Oregon City.

The town lies on the Heysen Trail, a-long walking trail from Cape Jervis to Parachilna Gorge.

Longer-term goals include trail links to the Sandy River Gorge Trail east of Gresham and the Pacific Crest Trail, which runs from Mexico to Canada and follows the Cascade Range through Oregon.

The waterfall is visible from the Gorge Trail and from the base of the Cane Creek Gorge, which can be accessed via the Cable Trail.

Broughton got as far as the Columbia River Gorge, sighting and naming Mount Hood.

Mount Hood, Mount Saint Helens and Mount Adams are all visible from Clark County, and cold winter winds through the Columbia River Gorge often bring freezing rain and a coating of glaze ice or clear ice known locally as a " silver thaw ," especially in southeastern areas of the county closest to the gorge.

Twenty-three species of flora listed as rare and threatened ( Under Queensland legislation ) have been found in the park, including the iconic Livistona nitida ( Carnarvon Fan Palm, Carnarvon Gorge section ), Cadellia pentastylis ( Ooline, Moolayember section ), and Stemmacantha australis ( Austral Cornflower, Mount Moffatt section ).

Other outstanding natural features include the Oregon Coast, the Columbia River Gorge, the Columbia River, Mount St. Helens, and Hells Canyon.

Located here is Mount Wood, Gorge Lookout and the Mount Wood camping ground.

The park includes many tourist attractions along its 250 kilometre length including Ormiston Pound, the Ellery Creek Bighole, Glen Helen, Simpsons Gap, Standley Chasm, Mount Sonder, Serpentine Gorge, the Ochre Pits and Redbank Gorge.

After the National Parks and Wildlife Act of 1972, Alligator Gorge, Mambray Creek and Mount Remarkable were proclaimed as Mount Remarkable National Park.

Palm Gorge is situated on Mount Greville.

Railroad tracks extended to the area by the 1890s, and, as the population grew, residents began referring to the locale as Fairview because of the pleasing views of the nearby river, the Columbia River Gorge, and Mount Hood.

The city serves as the western gateway to the Historic Columbia River Highway, the Mount Hood Scenic Byway, and the Columbia River Gorge.

Motorists who approach Washougal from the west on the Lewis & Clark Highway can see Mount Hood rising above the Cascade Mountains framed by the columnar cliffs that signal the gateway of the Gorge.

The road stretches some 208 kilometers through the Terek valley, crosses the Rocky Ridge ( хребет Скалистый ) in the Darial Gorge, past Mount Kazbek, and Gergeti Trinity Church, then leads through the canyon of the Baidarka River to the Jvari Pass, where it reaches an altitude of 2379 meters ( 7815 feet ) ().

Other notable sites include Svartifoss in Skaftafell National Park in Iceland, Giant's Causeway in Northern Ireland, Fingal's Cave in Scotland, Titan's Piazza of the Mount Holyoke Range in Massachusetts, the Garni Gorge in Armenia, the Cyclopean Isles near Sicily, Sheepeater Cliff at Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, Prismas Basálticos in Huasca de Ocampo, Mexico, the " Organ Pipes " formation on Mount Cargill in New Zealand, Gilbert Hill in Mumbai, Organ Pipes National Park in Australia and the " Column Cape " ( Russian: Mis Stolbchaty ) on Kunashir Island, the southernmost of the Kuril Islands.

Mount Yuelu is noted for its many scenic spots, including Qingfeng Gorge, Aiwan Pavilion, Lushan Temple, Yunlu Palace, the White Crane Spring and the Flying Stone.

The headwaters of the river rise on the slopes of Mount Superbus, part of the Main Range, before passing through Cambanoora Gorge.

Highlights along the trail include a river canyon cut through pumice deposited by the explosion of Mount Mazama about 8, 000 years ago ; the Rogue Gorge, lined with black lava, and Natural Bridge, where the river flows through a lava tube.

Svaneti's signature peak is probably Mount Ushba which towers over the Inguri Gorge and can be seen from many parts of the region.
