Stan Warren left the company in the early 1980s to form Superphon ( still recognized as having created some good sounding but affordable audio equipment ), and his place as audio designer and co-owner was taken over by Dr. Bob Odell, an audio designer himself, having created some of the notable Harman Kardon designs ( back when they made higher quality equipment ).

Founded in 1953 by Dr. Sidney Harman ( April 8, 1918 December 4, 2011 ) and Bernard Kardon two men with a deep interest in music and the arts the company helped create the high-fidelity audio industry.

One year after its founding, Harman Kardon introduced the world's first true high-fidelity receiver, the Festival D1000.

In 1958, Harman Kardon introduced the world's first stereo receiver, the Festival TA230, once again aimed at non-technical users in an attempt to make high-fidelity widely available.

In 2010, Toshiba began equipping selected versions of their Mini and Satellite notebooks with Harman Kardon branded speakers built-in.

In the late 1970s, the Harman Kardon Citation XX power amplifier was called " the world's best-sounding power amplifier " by the editors of The Audio Critic, a magazine published in the USA.

Harman Kardon partnered with Apple to design and manufacture the Harman Kardon iSub 2000 Subwoofer and SoundSticks.

Harman won her old seat in 2000, and was easily re-elected in 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008 and 2010.

In 2000, the court determined that Harman was to cease using elliptical ports in its products, and Harman was to pay Bose $ 5. 7 million in court costs.

Between 2000 and 2002, the company Mark Levinson founded was bought by Harman International Group.

Although speculative realism was not labeled as a movement until 2007 both Ventus ( 2000 ) and Lady of Mazes ( 2005 ) ask questions that are very similar to those posed by speculative realists such as Jane Bennett, Ian Bogost, Graham Harman, Quentin Meillassoux and Timothy Morton.

However these cartoons were not a success and in 1937 MGM fired Harman and Ising and purchased their studio to create MGM cartoons, thus obtaining the rights to Bosko.

While things were going in Mintz's favor, animators Hugh Harman and Rudolf Ising asked Universal head Carl Laemmle to remove Mintz, suggesting they would be the ones to continue the Oswald series.

Hugh Harman and Rollin Hamilton were responsible for animating several inventive gags during the film.

Harman and Ising were allowed production costs of up to $ 6000 per cartoon.

Hugh Harman ( August 31, 1903 – November 25, 1982 ) and Rudolf " Rudy " Ising ( August 7, 1903 – July 18, 1992 ) were an American animation team best known for founding the Warner Bros. and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer animation studios.

The Oswald cartoons which Harman and Ising produced in 1928 and 1929 already show their distinctive style, which would later characterize their work on the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies cartoon series for Warner Bros. For example, in Sick Cylinders ( 1929 ) there are sequences which were later remade very closely in such Harman and Ising Warner Bros. efforts as Sinkin ' in the Bathtub ( 1930 ) and Bosko's Holiday ( 1931 ).

Harman and Ising produced two cartoons for this series which were actually released.

Harman and Ising were in the midst of making a third cartoon when a contractual dispute arose.

By 1951, Harman and Ising were back together and making industrial and commercial films such as the 1951 film " Good Wrinkles " made for the California prune industry.

In reality, Harman and Ising never attempted to imitate Disney ; they were attempting to make refined polished cartoons whose quality would shine in comparison to the work of others.

Charlie Dye, Johnnie Hampton, Joe Beeler and George Phippen were co-founders of the Cowboy Artists of America of which Harman was also a charter member.

There were clashes with the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Gordon Brown, and the Secretary of State for Social Security, Harriet Harman.
