Analog Brothers is an experimental hip-hop crew featuring Ice Oscillator also known as Ice-T ( keyboards, drums, vocals ), Keith Korg also known as Kool Keith ( bass, strings, vocals ), Mark Moog also known as Marc Live ( drums, violyns and vocals ), Silver Synth also known as Black Silver ( synthesizer, lazar bell and vocals ), and Rex Roland also known as Pimp Rex ( keyboards, vocals, production ).

Jesse Saunders also utilized the TB-303 with a Roland TR-808 drum machine and Korg Poly-61 synthesizer for the seminal Chicago house record " On and On " ( 1984 ).

Hardware manufacturers have also released apps for the iPad and iPhone including Moog Music, Korg, Akai, and Tascam.

Korg was also the exclusive distributor of Marshall Amplification product in the U. S. A. for decades, with this distribution arrangement ending in 2010.

Then in mid 1990s, Roland entered to the hype, with the MC-303, and also Korg and Yamaha followed suit.

The XL also features several included PCM Waveforms, including Piano, Brass Ensemble, 9 Electric Piano and Clavinet, 7 organ sounds ( one of which emulates the Korg M1 Organ ), a full String Orchestra, 2 variable formant waves and more than 32 digitally generated waveforms ( SYNWAVE 6 is a ramp wave / inverted sawtooth.

The Korg DW-8000 was not multitimbral and would therefore not fare well in the market that only two years later would produce both the Roland D-50 and MT-32 which used samples of real attack transients to create increased realism, whilst the MT32 also brought multitimbral facilities with relatively high quality effects.

There was also a subsequent 05R / W, which was based on the Korg X5.

After the death of Freddie Mercury, who was also Queen's primary pianist, he took over Mercury's role as such during Queen + Paul Rodgers 2005, 2006 and 2008 tours, playing all piano parts on a Korg Triton keyboard, in addition to all other keyboard parts.

Bands like The Cure and Queen have used such models as the Korg M1.

mLan was used in a number of Yamaha products, notably digital mixing consoles and the Motif synthesizer, and in third-party products such as the PreSonus FIREstation and the Korg Triton Studio.

The only other instruments used were Korg MS-20 and ARP Odyssey analogue synthesizers usually driven by a Korg SQ-10 analog sequencer, with an Oberheim OB-Xa added around the time of the album Für Immer.

The D-50 produces a hybrid " analog / digital " sound: one can use traditional fat analog waveforms like saw and square ( digitally created on the fly unlike competing synths of the time that used PCM samples of waveforms, ala Korg DW-8000 ) together with PCM samples of actual acoustic instrument attack transients and famous analog synths of the past, filtered through full analog-style processing ( LFOs, TVFs, TVAs, ring modulator, effects, etc .).

During these decades the keyboard bass in its original form was still in use by some bands such as the B-52's, who used a Korg SB-100 " Synth-Bass ".

Some synthesizer workstations, most notably the Korg Triton and the Roland XP-80, were heavily used.

Although much of his music sounds like it was composed using equipment at the forefront of technology, it is not uncommon for him to use equipment now considered antique, such as the 1971 Korg micro synth that he used for portions of the second album, Corridor of Mirrors.

The success of the AI² architecture ensured it was used in the majority of subsequent Korg synths of the 1990s.

Reportedly when the engineers at Korg were presenting their new workstation to replace the Korg M1 they had used the working name Korg M10, but marketing saw the name upside down, and M10 was read as " 01W ".

Producers use many different sound-sources for bass sounds in house, from continuous, repeating electronically generated lines sequenced on a synthesizer, such as a Korg M1, Roland SH-101, or TB-303, to studio recordings or samples of live electric bassists, or simply filtered-down samples from whole stereo recordings of classic funk tracks or any other songs.

His trademark raw sound became from triggering short samples loaded in 3 Korg SDD-2000 sampling-delay units through the trigger out of the Roland TR-808.

Also during this period, a number of analog / digital hybrid synthesizers were introduced, which replaced certain sound-producing functions with digital equivalents, for example the digital oscillators in synthesizers like the Korg DW-8000 ( which played back PCM samples of various waveforms ) and the Kawai K5 ( waveforms constructed via additive synthesis ).

These titles featured a more extensive soundtrack and utilised ethnic samples taken from among other sources the same Korg M1 synthesizer that was sampled by David Whittaker for the original game ( although in this case, it was the rack-mounted version the Korg M1 / R ).

The DW-8000 in itself cannot be seen as a huge milestone or breakthrough product, but the hybrid architecture of samples partnered with subtractive synthesis was to become an important motif in Korg keyboards during the latter half of the 1980s.

Korg themselves took longer to find the winning combination, but by the end of the decade had achieved considerable success with their M1 workstation that included a few old DWGS samples.

Subsequent Korg synths had their samples recorded at 16 bit 44. 1 kHz, reducing the available high end.
