Of the thirteen Eastons in England, the most important town of that name is situated about one mile ( 1. 6 km ) from the head of the Lower Avon.

Also known as the Warwickshire Avon or Shakespeare's Avon, it has been divided since 1719 into the Lower Avon, below Evesham, and the Upper Avon, from Evesham to above Stratford-upon-Avon.
