Monmouth is located beside the A40 dual carriageway road that links the M4 motorway at Newport in South Wales with the M50 motorway at Ross-on-Wye ; this connects in turn with the M5 motorway south of Worcester in the West Midlands.

Nearing Bridgwater on the M5 motorway it is possible to see the Willow Man sculpture, a striding human figure constructed from willow, sometimes called the Angel of the South ( see also Angel of the North ).

South east of the town near Lyng, on the opposite side of the M5 motorway but within the parish is North Moor, a 676. 3 hectare biological Site of Special Scientific Interest.

The names from Heathcote to Beecroft are: Heathcote Road, New Illawarra Road, Alfords Point Road, Davies Road, Fairford Road ( junction with the M5 South Western Motorway, Stacey Street, Rookwood Road, Joseph Street, Olympic Drive ( Lidcombe Bypass ), St. Hilliers Road, Silverwater Road ( junction with M4 Western Motorway ), Stewart Street, Marsden Road, Pennant Hills Rd ( Cumberland Highway ).

The M5 South Western Motorway and Hume Highway sit on the western border of Glenfield.

Metroad 5 is known as the Hume Highway until the Camden Valley Way interchange and thereafter M5 South Western Motorway to King Georges Road, Beverly Hills, then M5 East Freeway to General Holmes Drive.

Ramp metering is used to regulate access to a number of major roads in Sydney, including: M4 Western Motorway ( Wallgrove Road on-ramp ); the M5 East motorway ( Kingsgrove Road on-ramp ); and the citywest Link to Anzac Bridge.

When the M5 East was completed, the Metroad 5 designation was assigned to the freeway ; those parts of the highways ( both Great Western / Hume Highway ) which had been part of Metroad 5 were now given over to a logical continuation of State Route 31 east beyond Metroad 3, from Centenary Drive into the city.

The M7 originates at the Roden Cutler Interchange, a Y-junction with the M5 South Western Motorway at Prestons, and weaves to the west of Liverpool to the junction of Elizabeth Road and Wallgrove Road in Abbotsbury.

From Wolli Creek, the line heads west towards East Hills, where the alignment is within 2 km of the since-constructed M5 South Western Motorway between Wolli Creek and East Hills.

The tunnel joined the Eastern Distributor and M5 South Western Motorway, shortening road travel times between the city and the south west.

Just to the east of town is the end of the M50 " Ross Motorway " spur from the M5 motorway which links the area to the UK motorway network.

Entrances to the M5 Motorway are located on King Georges Road, west of the shopping centre.

The M5 Motorway connects east to Bexley North, Arncliffe, Sydney Airport and the Sydney CBD and west to Liverpool and Campbelltown.

It is situated at the bottom of a hill ( known as Blackhorse Hill ) near Junction 17 of the M5 Motorway on the B4055.

The site just off junction 4 on the M5 Motorway has been developed into a community with offices, houses, industrial units, Empire Cinemas, Hollywood Bowl, Premier Inn, Brewers Fayre, Morrisons, Gala Bingo, Greens Fitness and an area of public open space.

The St George junior district covers an area of southern Sydney from Cooks River and the M5 Motorway in the north, Botany Bay to the east, Salt Pan Creek to the west, and the Georges River to the south.

It was upgraded to 3 lanes in each direction during the late 1970s & 1980s, between North St Ives, and the M5 Motorway at Beverly Hills.

There were several reasons for positioning a new station at Stoke Gifford: trains to London were quicker than on the longer route from Temple Meads, via Bath and Chippenham before reaching Swindon ; a larger car park than at Temple Meads could be provided ; the population on the northern fringes of the city was growing, especially with the building of a new town at Bradley Stoke ; and it was within easy access of the M4 and M5 motorways.

The northern end of King's Sedgemoor Drain, where it discharges into the River Parrett, lies just outside the Puriton Parish boundary ; it runs parallel, at this point, between the Polden Hills ( to the east ) and the M5 motorway ( to the west ).

Part of the northern section of the road was realigned in 1973, when the M5 motorway was extended through Somerset ; and it was diverted to the west of the Puriton Inn, to the new M5 motorway roundabout, at junction 23.

Carnmoney Hill is a northern outlier of the Belfast Hills chain and rises above Newtownabbey, and thus it can be seen from northern County Down, Belfast Lough, the M2 and M5 motorways and Belfast City.

Prestons is situated at an important road junction where the M5 South Western Motorway from the city meets the Hume Highway heading towards Canberra and Melbourne and the Westlink M7 heading towards Mount Druitt and northern Sydney.

Along this stretch and further out the Shore Road, the main route parallels the M2 and M5, until the M5 ends in Newtownabbey in the northern suburbs of Belfast.
