His Der Löwe und die Maus ( The Lion and the Mouse 1931 ) was a singspiel drama for small orchestra and children ’ s choir ; aimed at 12-14 year-olds, it was built on an improvisation by the composer ’ s own children.

Panzerkampfwagen VIII Maus was a German World War II super-heavy tank completed in late 1944.

The principal problem in development of the Maus was finding a powerful enough engine for its weight that could be carried in the tank.

This was reportedly changed to Mäuschen ( Little Mouse ) in December 1942 and finally to Maus ( Mouse ) in February 1943, which became the most common name for this tank.
