In 1945, Arturo Toscanini and the NBC Symphony Orchestra recorded the music in Carnegie Hall, one of the few commercial recordings Toscanini made of music by an American composer.

It was recorded in her presence on October 21, 1958, at Decca's Pythian Temple, with Dick Jacob, Coral-Brunswick's new head of Artists and Repertoire, serving as both producer and conductor of the 18-piece orchestra, which included members of the New York Symphony Orchestra, NBC Television's house orchestra and Abraham " Boomie " Richman, formerly of Benny Goodman's band.

Two years later, Carmine became the first flautist for the NBC Symphony Orchestra and the family moved to New York City, finding a home in Woodside, Queens, where Francis spent the remainder of his childhood.

Years later, Arturo Toscanini recorded the music for RCA Victor with the NBC Symphony Orchestra which complements the 1947 Toscanini performance of the complete opera.

During that year, legendary conductor Arturo Toscanini made his first of ten TV appearances conducting the NBC Symphony Orchestra, and Texaco Star Theater, starring comedian Milton Berle, became television's first gigantic hit show.

This overture, not normally used today, was given a rare broadcast performance by Arturo Toscanini and the NBC Symphony Orchestra on 30 March 1940, but was never commercially issued.

In 1946, fifty years after the opera's premiere, Toscanini conducted a performance of it on radio with the NBC Symphony Orchestra.

One of the most notable of all classical music radio programs of the Golden Age of Radio featured the celebrated Italian conductor Arturo Toscanini conducting the NBC Symphony Orchestra, which had been created especially for him.

During his years in the United States, Walter worked with many famous American orchestras, including the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the NBC Symphony Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic ( where he was musical adviser from 1947 to 1949, but declined an offer to be music director ), and the Philadelphia Orchestra.

Toscanini had left in search of higher fees with the NBC Symphony Orchestra.

The NBC Symphony Orchestra was a radio orchestra established by David Sarnoff of the National Broadcasting Company ( NBC ) especially for conductor Arturo Toscanini.

The story of Virginia's inquiry and the The Suns response was adapted in 1932 into an NBC produced cantata ( the only known editorial set to classical music ) and an Emmy Award-winning animated television special in 1974, animated by Bill Meléndez ( best known for his work on the various Peanuts specials ) and featuring the voices of Jim Backus, Susan Silo and Courtney Lemmon, with theme song performed by Jimmy Osmond.

The Broadway production from 1954 was subsequently performed on NBC television in RCA's compatible color in 1955, 1956 and 1960.

After the network of coaxial cable and microwave relays carrying programs to the West Coast was completed in September 1951, CBS and NBC in 1952 instituted a " hot kinescope " process in which shows being performed in New York were transmitted west, filmed on two kinescope machines in 35 mm negative and 16 mm reversal film ( the latter for backup protection ) in Los Angeles, rushed to film processing, and then transmitted from Los Angeles three hours later for broadcast in the Pacific Time Zone.

On May 8, 2012, the two performed on the NBC reality singing competition The Voice.
