Recruitment is fiercely competitive and potential sorority members are encouraged to secure personal recommendations from Ole Miss sorority alumnae in order to increase the chances of receiving an invitation to join one of the 9 NPC sororities on campus.

Many fraternities and sororities on campus belong to the National Panhellenic Conference ( NPC ), Interfraternity Council ( IFC ), Greek Alliance Council, and National Pan-Hellenic Council ( NPHC ).

The fledgling Greek system at USC-Aiken consists of 3 IFC fraternities, 4 NPHC fraternities, and 3 NPC sororities, 4 NPHC sororities.

John Carroll University's fraternities and sororities are approved by the John Carroll University Office of Student Activities and are governed by the rules of the Interfraternity and Panhellenic Councils, respectively.
