Under the technical leadership of the Three Amigos, an international consortium called the UML Partners was organized in 1996 to complete the Unified Modeling Language ( UML ) specification, and propose it as a response to the OMG RFP.

The Object Management Group ( OMG ) has developed a metamodeling architecture to define the Unified Modeling Language ( UML ), called the Meta-Object Facility ( MOF ).

This extension is called ZIOP and this is now a formal OMG standard.

A specific standard language for model transformation has been defined by OMG called QVT.

The OMG has defined a specific standard for model transformation called MOF / QVT or in short QVT.

The OMG has proposed a standard for this called QVT for Queries / Views / Transformations.

Cottle is involved in a new project with Kiesha Miles called the OMG Girlz.

Cottle's daughter, Zonnique ( aka Star ) formally 1 / 3 members of QT Possie, is also involved in the music industry and is part of a musical trio called the OMG Girlz.

This MDA approach corresponds the OMG vision of Model Driven Engineering.

Potential concerns that have been raised with the OMG MDA approach include:

* OMG Track Record: The OMG consortium who sponsor the MDA approach ( and own the MDA trademark ) also introduced and sponsored the CORBA standard which itself failed to materialise as a widely utilised standard.

Among the various conferences on this topic we may mention ECMDA, the European Conference on MDA and also MoDELS, former firmed as << UML >> conference series ( till 2004 ), the Italian Forum on MDA in collaboration with the OMG.

OMG proposed the QVT ( query / view / transformation ) standard to handle model transformations required for MDA.

* OMG standard modeling ( UML2, BPMN, SysML, MDA, …)

A BRMS therefore relates to model-driven engineering, such as the Model Driven Architecture ( MDA ) of the Object Management Group ( OMG ).

Object Management Group ( OMG ) is a consortium, originally aimed at setting standards for distributed object-oriented systems, and is now focused on modeling ( programs, systems and business processes ) and model-based standards.

OMG provides only specifications, and does not provide implementations.

But before a specification can be accepted as a standard by OMG, the members of the winning submitter team must guarantee that they will bring a conforming product to market within a year.

Other private companies or open source groups are encouraged to produce conforming products and OMG is attempting to develop mechanisms to enforce true interoperability.

In June 2005, the Business Process Management Initiative ( BPMI. org ) and OMG announced the merger of their respective Business Process Management ( BPM ) activities to form the Business Modeling and Integration Domain Task Force ( BMI DTF ).

In 2006 the BPMN language specification was adopted as a standard by OMG.

In 2007 the Business Motivation Model ( BMM ) was adopted as a standard by the OMG.

At its founding, OMG set out to create the initial Common Object Request Broker Architecture ( CORBA ) standard which appeared in 1991.

OMG has also developed a core set of standards adapting CORBA for embedded and real-time systems.

Semantics of Business Vocabulary and Business Rules ( SBVR ) is a landmark for the OMG, the first OMG specification to incorporate the formal use of natural language in modeling and the first to provide explicitly a model of formal logic.

ADMTF is an OMG group similar to ADTF with high potential.

Semantics of Business Vocabulary and Business Rules ( SBVR ) and KDM are designed as two parts of a unique OMG Technology Stack for software analytics related to existing software systems.

* Business models: OMG manages a number of standards for business modeling, including BPMN, the Business Motivation Model ( BMM ) and the Semantics of Business Vocabulary and Business Rules ( SBVR ) specification.

In February 2006, the Object Management Group ( OMG ) announced that they had been granted the right to develop new specifications based on the ODMG 3. 0 specification and the formation of the Object Database Technology Working Group ( ODBT WG ).

It was first added to the list of OMG adopted technologies in 1997, and has since become the industry standard for modeling software-intensive systems.

The UML Partners ' UML 1. 0 specification draft was proposed to the OMG in January 1997.

The result of this work, UML 1. 1, was submitted to the OMG in August 1997 and adopted by the OMG in November 1997.
