The Onondaga Escarpment runs through the northern part of Erie County.

The creek has a small 30 foot high waterfall at Indian Falls where the stream descends from the Onondaga Escarpment.

Bridgeport straddles the northward-flowing Chittenango Creek, which serves as the boundary between Onondaga County, New York's Town of Cicero, New York on the west side of the creek and Madison County, New York's Town of Sullivan, New York on the east side of the creek.
