Onondaga Lake Park is a county park located on the eastern shore of Onondaga Lake outside of Syracuse at 6790 Onondaga Lake Trail in Liverpool.

Located on Rackety Trail off highway 35, Onondaga was established in 1918.

In 1785 a census showed that 1, 843 Natives lived there, including 448 Mohawk, 381 Cayuga, 245 Onondaga, 162 Oneida, 129 Tuscarora, and 78 Seneca of the Iroquois Six Nations, the Haudenosaunee.

On April 1, 1980, ownership and maintenance of CR 80 between I-690 exits 6 ( NY 695 ) and 7 ( NY 297 ) was transferred to the state of New York as part of a highway maintenance swap between the state and Onondaga County.

Onondaga Lake, though located just north of the Finger Lakes region, is not considered one of the Finger Lakes.
