The leader of the Predacon team is Megatron.

Taking control of Waspinator's body with Terrorsaur watching, Starscream went about his standard backstabbing ways, acquiring the trust of Predacon leader Megatron, telling him that he was defending Galvatron against Unicron and was destroyed, with his spark enduring.

Delighted, Starscream took her under his wing to teach her the ways of treachery, and at the same time, he wards off Scorponok and forced the surrendering Maximals to attack the Predacon base by threatening their leader Optimus Primal and Dinobot with death, revealing his true intentions to rule both Maximal and Predacons.

Scorponok was arguably the lone original Predacon who was completely loyal to Megatron ; the other 4 original Predacons-Terrorsaur, Tarantulas, Waspinator, and Dinobot-all tried to usurp Megatron's position of leader at one point of the first season.

It is possible he gained his beast mode from the Decepticon cult leader Predacon.

Searching for the ruins of Ravage's craft, Predacon leader Magmatron discovered the former Decepticon's remains, and his intact spark core.

Unicron was able to control the Predacon known as Galvatron through the Galvamatrix, as well as the Predacon Overlord Shokoract, through the Matrix of Conquest which housed Unicron's Dark Essence itself.

With Hasbro not having the license to the name " Laserbeak " at the time, the red and purple recolor of the Predacon Terrorsaur was known as Lazorbeak.

Unlike the wide array of other characters featured in the Beast Wars toy line who shared the names of older original characters but shared no other connection with them ( with the exception of Grimlock and Prowl ), the Predacon known as Ravage was the original Ravage from Megatron's army.

When a rogue Predacon known as Megatron stole a Transwarp cruiser and traveled back in time with the goal of altering history to ensure Decepticon victory in the war, the Tripredacus Council outfitted Ravage with a Transwarp cruiser and dispatched him to pursue and, under the guise of arresting Megatron, eliminate all Transformers on the planet.

Three centuries after the " Great War " ended, the Predacon that would become Megatron uncovered this message.

As a reward, Megatron puts Starscream in command of the Maximal base with Blackarachnia and Scorponok while he return to the Predacon base with the other Predacons.

Most unique among the characters named Galvatron was the main villain of the anime series Beast Wars Second, who was not a former Megatron, but instead a unrelated Predacon who named himself after the original Galvatron.

In the " Botcon " comic line, the Quintessons formed an alliance with the Predacon scientist Cryotek, a former mentor of Megatron.

Under the influence of the virus, a fighting-mad Primal smashed his way into the Predacon base single-handedly and confronted Megatron for the anti-virus.

To this end, when Megatron assembled a crew of like-minded Predacons to embark on his voyage to prehistoric Earth, they installed within his group Tarantulas, a mole from the Predacon Secret Police, to examine his operation from the inside.

The plan was foiled, however, by Dinobot, who single-handedly fought off the entire Predacon force and destroyed the Golden Disk ( at the cost of his own life ) with his eye beams, leaving Megatron with no remaining options.

Megatron returned in BotCon 2000s " Reaching the Omega Point ", now in his dragon form, as the Maximals and Predacons came under attack first by Windrazor, a powerful Fuzor that Megatron was able to defeat, only to have it fuse with Unicron's essence, then from Shokaract, a future Predacon that had merged with the essence of Unicron.

A feared general in the Predacon army, he went rogue from the Predacons after the signing of the Pax Cybertronia, and took the name of Megatron.

The largest individual Predacon toy released in the pre-transmetal era, Megatron was not entirely identical to his animated counterpart, primarily due to the presence of a " mutant mask " that formed an alternate face for the figure ( although early animation tests showed Megatron looking more like the toy ).

The back of the box of this version of Megatron had a printing error which referred to the included " Predacon " ship, so Hasbro placed a correcting label over it.

Additionally certain " Predacons " like Inferno and Blackarachnia were created from Maximal protoforms, but were fitted with Predacon shell programs, fighting instead for the Predacons.

Megastorm, enhanced into his new Gigastorm form attacks the Maximals, but the combined missiles of Magnaboss and Leo Prime are able to defeat him by blowing the rocks out from under him and dumping the Predacon into a pool of angolmois energy.

It was not long before Rhinox sprang into action, using the residual transwarp energy to access the Matrix, from which he plucked Primal's spark, installing it within a blank protoform ( which was also a victim of the quantum surge, but remained blank until a spark with a beast form was installed ) Emerging in a new transmetal body at a moment of great crisis, Primal used his new powers to save the Maximals from a massive Predacon attack with the aid of the Fuzor, Silverbolt.

Setting up base around the Ark to protect it from further Predacon attacks, the Maximals were soon joined by Depth Charge, an old acquaintance of Primal's, who harbored some degree of hostility for him for his role in the preservation of Protoform X's life.

After being infected with delirium-inducing cyber-venom from Tarantulas while battling Megatron's new cloned Cyber-Raptors, Optimus fell victim to the treacherous Predacon again.

Determined to redeem himself in Primal's eyes, Cheetor tried to spy on Megatron's new Megacannon, but was captured by Tarantulas and had to be rescued from being eaten by the spider Predacon by Rattrap.

He is also dim-witted, talks in a broken third-person speech pattern, often referring to other characters, except Megatron, Optimus Primal, and himself ,( however when Megatron became a dragon, Waspinator referred to him as " Dragon-Bot ") by names that reflected their transformation modes instead of their true names ( example: referring to Silverbolt as " Doggy-Bot ") and spent most of the series as an underdog, causing him to take constant abuse from Maximal and Predacon alike ( thus summing up Waspinator's most well-known line " Why universe hate Waspinator?!

The name is a reference to the Beast Wars Predacon Sky Shadow, whose name Jetfire apparently found in the Cybertron Archives — although quite how he would have found information about an individual from a different continuity is puzzling at best ( leading one to believe that the name may actually be a reference to Sky Shadow from Transformers Energon ).

Additionally, he referred to the Predacon Base as " The Colony " ( and at one point " The Nest ") and his comrades as drones, drawing some amount of dissatisfaction from them.

In the Convention Comics plot, Inferno and Blackarachnia watched as the Predacon scientist Fractyl attempted to invent Energon Armor capable of protecting them from energon build up.

He fights alongside with the Maximals before ultimately sacrificing himself to save a group of primates from a Predacon onslaught.

Ravage put his espionage history to work serving under the Predacons ' ruling triumvirate, the Tripredacus Council, as a covert agent — in his new bipedal Predacon body, his stealth abilities were enhanced from invisibility in darkness to true invisibility, imperceptible to both the naked eye and any scanning mechanisms ( case in point: Silverbolt's enhanced senses did allow him to smell Ravage, he could only detect that there was somebody there that they could not see, rather than being able to pinpoint Ravage's exact location ).
