Johann Georg Rapp ( November 1, 1757 – August 7, 1847 ), also known as George Rapp, was the founder of the religious sect called Harmonists, Harmonites, Rappites, or the Harmony Society.

The town of Harmony, founded by the Harmony Society in 1814 under the leadership of German immigrant George Rapp ( actually Johann Georg Rapp ), was the second of three towns built by the pietist, communal German religious group, known as Harmonists, Harmonites or Rappites.

One year after Henry's death, John's mother deserted her sons and entered a religious community at Harmony, Pennsylvania, called the Rappites.
