* West Reservoir

West Branch State Park is a very large state park in central Portage County, consisting of a large green surrounding the Michael J. Kirwan Dam and Reservoir.

To its north, there is the extensive West Reservoir, now a non-working facility, but open for leisure and surrounded by greenspace, at the entrance to which is the architecturally bizarre Castle Climbing Centre, once the main Water Board pumping station.

Although this originally terminated at the New River Head in Finsbury, since 1946 its main flow has ended at Stoke Newington reservoirs, though a slow ornamental trickle flows past the West Reservoir to go underground for a stretch on Green Lanes, reappearing for a time in Clissold Park only to disappear underground again on its way to Canonbury.

As mentioned, the West Reservoir is now a leisure facility, offering sailing, canoeing and other water sports, plus Royal Yachting Association-approved sailing courses.

New Salem's modern southern town lines are dictated by the former West and Middle Branches of the Swift River, which are now submerged as part of the Quabbin Reservoir.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of, of which, of it is land and of it ( 5. 40 %) is water. The town lies along the western edge of the Quabbin Reservoir, its town line following the former path of the West Branch of the Swift River, which once flowed through the town.

The town lies on the western banks of Silver Lake, and is also the site of Robbins Pond, Indian Trail Reservoir and Burrage Pond in the west of town, and East and West Monponsett Ponds near the center of town.

* Hinckley – A hamlet located on NY 365 near the Hinckley Reservoir on the north bank of West Canada Creek.

" Westvale " as an identity probably evolved in the early twentieth century, referring to the area west of Wescott Reservoir, accessed by, but mostly south of, West Genesee Street ( since the Village of Solvay was to the north ).

Coles Mill operated until 1888 when it was submerged under West Branch Reservoir.

The Manor Kill is a stream, fed by the Bear Kill, flowing westward into the Schoharie Reservoir near West Conesville.

* West Conesville – A hamlet in the western part of the town on County Road 3 near the Schoharie Reservoir.

Bridgeport Reservoir, Twin Lakes, Virginia Lakes, Green Creek, the East Walker River, the West Walker River and numerous small tributaries and backcountry lakes offer some of the premier Rainbow, Brown and Cutthroat trout fishing to be found anywhere in the world.

These are not Old West wagon trails, however ; the town did not exist until nearby Cedar Creek Reservoir was built in the 1960s, and was not incorporated until the 1970s.

The magazine called the West Hartford Reservoir off Farmington Avenue " West Hartford ’ s version of Central Park ," and it also noted the town's " vacation-worthy hot spots, with cutting-edge restaurants, great shopping, and plenty of parking.

Gailey Reservoir is the site of a nature reserve, operated by the West Midland Bird Club.

The man-made, concrete-banked watercourse is known as the River Lee Diversion at this point as it passes to the east of a pair of reservoirs: the King George V Reservoir at Ponders End / Chingford and William Girling Reservoir at Edmonton ; and to the West of the Banbury Reservoir at Walthamstow.

At Tottenham Hale there is a connected set of reservoirs ; Lockwood Reservoir, High Maynard Reservoir, Low Maynard Reservoir, Walthamstow Reservoirs, East Warwick Reservoir and West Warwick Reservoir.

* Reservoir Place-Gun Hill Road-White Plains Road ( southbound lanes )

The Water Treatment Works is next to the Sunnyside Reservoir and the Stain Hill Reservoirs-sites of Metropolitan Importance for Nature Conservation and contains flower-rich grassland and habitats for water birds.

Fort Lewis College underwent another period of growth and changes starting in 1956, when the college moved from its long-time home in Hesperus to its present location, 18 miles east, atop what was then known as Reservoir Hill, overlooking Durango.

Deary is located at the base of Potato Mountain, or as the locals call it, " Spud Hill " and close to outdoor recreation, including camping and fishing: between Spring Valley Reservoir and Moose Creek.

The B. G. M. U. Water Tower atop Reservoir Hill is a local landmark visible from many parts of Bowling Green.

The highest point in the city is the summit of Reservoir Hill, close to the center of the city, with an elevation of over above sea level.

The lowest elevation in the city of Spokane is the northernmost point of the Spokane River within city limits ( in Riverside State Park ) at and the highest elevation is on the northeast side near the community of Hillyard, though closer to Beacon Hill and the North Hill Reservoir at.

The Smoky Hill feeds two reservoirs: Cedar Bluff Reservoir in Trego County and Kanopolis Lake in Ellsworth County.

Butterley Reservoir situated at the north of the town at the bottom of Butterley Hill, has pairs of Great Crested Grebes, Coots, Moorhens and other birds to watch and platforms for anglers to use.

Set on a hilltop overlooking the Chestnut Hill Reservoir the sprawling campus includes an ever-increasing number of ever-larger buildings, and markedly reduced green areas.

The 1895 Louis K. Liggett Estate was acquired in 1941 and developed into a Tudor-style upper campus, while an architecturally eclectic lower campus took shape on land acquired by filling in part of the Chestnut Hill Reservoir.

A large portion of the western end of town is dominated by Willowdale State Forest, and other portions of the town are also protected land, including Crane Wildlife Refuge on Castle Neck, the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge and Sandy Point State Reservation on Plum Island, as well as Hamlin Reservation, Heartbreak Hill Reservation, Bull Brook Reservoir, Greenwood Farm and a portion of Appleton Farms Sanctuary, which extends into Hamilton.

Turtle Cove Beach is accessible by bus No. 14 from exit A of the Sai Wan Ho MTR station or mini-bus 16X from Chai Wan ; the beach is located near the Red Hill estate stop ( past the Tai Tam Reservoir ).

There are pay car parks at Cropston Reservoir, Newtown Linford, and Hunts Hill ( at the top of the park near Old John ).

A Hill Whiskeytown Dam ) in turn provides water to the Spring Creek Tunnel, which travels into the lowermost extreme of Spring Creek, a stream that flows into Keswick Reservoir, generating another 180 MW of electricity.

The Eleven Mile Reservoir Dam drains into Eleven Mile Canyon, which runs through Forest Service land.

The river is also impounded by the Kinzua Dam in northwestern Pennsylvania, resulting in the Allegheny Reservoir.

In 1965, the completion of the federally-sponsored Kinzua Dam for flood-control in northwestern Pennsylvania east of Warren created the long Allegheny Reservoir, part of which is included in the Allegheny National Recreation Area.

The Gilboa Dam and the Schoharie Reservoir are part of the New York City Water Supply System.

* Irkutsk Dam ( Иркутская ГЭС ), forming the Irkutsk Reservoir, which floods the valley of the river from its source to Irkutsk, and slightly raises the water level in Lake Baikal.

Notable physical features include the Allegheny River, the Allegheny Reservoir, the Kinzua Dam, and the Allegheny National Forest.

The water level of the Don in this area is raised by the Tsimlyansk Dam, forming the Tsimlyansk Reservoir.

Following the devastating floods of 1916 and 1940, the US Army's Corps of Engineers constructed the W. Kerr Scott Dam and Reservoir on the Yadkin River four miles west of Wilkesboro.

Since the completion of the Cascade Dam in 1948, much of the northern valley has been covered by the Cascade Reservoir.

Also in the county are the Dworshak Reservoir, Dworshak State Park, Dworshak National Fish Hatchery, and the Dworshak Dam, third highest dam in the U. S. The modest Bald Mountain ski area is located between Orofino and Pierce.

Main roads include San Pablo Dam Road ( a major road running from Richmond and San Pablo, through El Sobrante, past EBMUD's San Pablo Reservoir ), Valley View Road and Appian Way.

In 1924, the Littlerock Dam and the Harold Reservoir, present day Lake Palmdale, were constructed to assist the agricultural industry and have enough water to serve the growing communities.

The Henry's Fork is impounded by Island Park Dam to form Island Park Reservoir at the rim of the caldera just north and just outside of the caldera.
