The first works attributed to Masaccio are the San Giovenale Triptych ( 1422 ) and the Virgin and Child with Saint Anne ( Sant ' Anna Metterza ) ( c. 1424 ) at the Uffizi.

The latter two completed his design for an altarpiece of the Vision of Saint Nicholas ( San Nicola da Tolentino, Rome ) using two separate marble pieces linked together in one event and place, yet successfully separating the divine and earthly spheres.

On November 26, 1510 Pier Soderini commissioned him an altarpiece for the Sala del Consiglio of Florence, now in the Museum of San Marco.

Church of San Felipe Neri The Church of San Felipe Neri is considered a classic example of Baroque with estipite ( inverted truncated pyramid ) columns from the end of the 18th century, and has a large gilded main altarpiece.
