Born Thomas John Kummer in Birmingham, Alabama, Sebring was the son of an accountant, Bernard Kummer, and his wife Margarette.

Models subsequently produced during the next decade included the Mitsubishi Mirage / Eagle Summit sedans, the Mitsubishi Galant, the Dodge Avenger Coupe / Chrysler Sebring Coupe, and the Dodge Stratus Coupe.

Another example of licensed badge-engineered products would be the Volga Siber, a rebadged version of the Chrysler Sebring Sedan and the Dodge Stratus Sedan produced in Russia from 2008-2010.

The CitiCar was produced between 1974 and 1977 by a U. S. company called Sebring-Vanguard, Inc., based in Sebring, Florida.
