Smaller notable subgroups include the Crimean Tatars, Lipka Tatars and Astrakhan Tatars in Europe and the Siberian Tatars in Asia.

The Western dialect ( Misher ) is spoken mostly by Mishärs, the Central dialect is spoken by Kazan and Astrakhan Tatars, and the Eastern ( Sibir ) dialect is spoken by Siberian Tatars in western Siberia.

This designation was spread by the Russians, who acquired it from the Yakuts and the Siberian Tatars ( in the Yakut language tongus ) in the 17th century.

The claim that this language is part of the modern Tatar language is typically supported by linguists in Kazan and denounced by Siberian Tatars.

By studying the phonetic peculiarities of dialect of the local population of Siberia, professor Gabdulkhay Akhatov first among the scientists discovered in the Speech of Siberian Tatars is such a thing as the pronounce, which in his opinion, was obtained for the Siberian Tatars of Kipchaks.
