Sometimes confused with competitive Debate, Individual Events is actually a unique form of competition, often referred to simply as Speech Team or Forensics.

The Robert C. Wright Speech and Debate Team ( named in honor of alumnus and former Chairman of NBC Universal Robert C. Wright ) regularly competes with the best high school speaking and debating teams, both in the New York City Metropolitan area and nationally, and has produced national champions in several events.

The Bancroft Speech Team strives to help each member gain confidence as a speaker and actor while competing in a myriad of different events that cover all fields of performance.
