It is the present day main harbour area of the City of Vancouver beyond Stanley Park.

Anfield was built in 1884 on land adjacent to Stanley Park.

Carshalton-on-the-Hill is the residential area on the high chalk upland ground to the south of Carshalton Park around Boundary Road, Stanley Road and Stanley Park Road and stretching out towards the smallholdings of Little Woodcote.

The annual Carshalton Lavender harvest weekend is held in July, at Stanley Park Allotments, Carshalton-on-the-Hill.

This gun was brought to Stanley Park by the Department of Fisheries in 1894 to warn fishermen of the 6: 00 pm Sunday closing of fishing.

In 1982, Nancy Stanley founded Tender Loving Zoo ( TLZ ), a nonprofit organization that introduced animal therapy to severely handicapped children and to convalescent hospitals for the elderly.

The city was able to provide a variety of new facilities, including a main branch for the Edmonton Public Library ( which would later be named after Stanley Milner, a political rival of Hawrelak's ), a new city hall, the Riverside Golf Course, the Valley Zoo, Fort Edmonton Park, the Groat Bridge, the Royal Alexandra Hospital, the Queen Elizabeth Planetarium, Borden Park, Coronation Park, Mayfair Park ( later renamed in Hawrelak's honour ), and the Edmonton portion of the Yellowhead Trail ( Highway 16 ).

In December 2006, Morgan Stanley closed a deal that paid the city $ 563 million for a 99-year lease of the city ’ s parking garages.

In 1903, partly as a result of a dispute with Princeton president Woodrow Wilson, partly due to an offer involving more pay and less teaching, he moved to a professorship of philosophy and psychology at Johns Hopkins University where he re-opened the experimental laboratory that had been founded by G. Stanley Hall in 1884 ( but had closed with Hall's departure to take over the presidency of Clark University in 1888 ).
