Kellen Winslow caught 10 passes for 171 yards and Chargers clinched their second straight AFC West title by defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers 26 – 17 and finished the regular season with an 11 – 5 record.

The Chargers made it back to the playoffs, but after beating the Steelers in the first round, they lost to the Dolphins 34 – 13 in a rematch of their playoff game from the previous season.

The Seahawks wore their home blue jerseys during Super Bowl XL despite being designated as the visitor, since the Pittsburgh Steelers, the designated home team, elected to wear their white jerseys.

Meanwhile, the Steelers only gave up a combined total of 20 points in their playoff victories over the Baltimore Colts, 28 – 10, and the Oakland Raiders, 16 – 10.
