HSS 1500-class Stena Explorer, Stena Voyager and Stena Discovery vessels use COGAG setups of twin GE LM2500 plus GE LM1600 power for a total of 68 MW.

Stena Line was founded in, and is still operated from, Gothenburg, Sweden, by Sten A. Olsson when he acquired Skagenlinjen between Gothenburg, Sweden, and Fredrikshavn, Denmark, in 1962.

Following on from this, the ship was introduced on the Stranraer to Belfast route, alongside HSS Stena Voyager and Stena Caledonia.

In addition to its domestic services, the company was also a partner with Stena Line and Nederlandse Spoorwegen in the Dutchflyer service.

The chain of British Transport Hotels was sold off, mainly one hotel at a time, in 1982 ; Sealink ( UK ) Limited was sold in 1984 to Sea Containers Limited, who ultimately sold the routes to their current owner, Stena Line.

In 1982 a newer vessel MV Stena Jutlandica was purchased and renamed MV Bluenose ( replacing the previous vessel ).

One of these extra trains in each direction was expected to connect with the summer-only Stena Lynx fast ferry to Rosslare Europort, Ireland in summer 2012, however Stena line then sold the Lynx fastcraft which means the summer 2012 Lynx service will no longer operate.

Stena Line, Europe's biggest ferry company, operates from the port, as do Irish Ferries.

Stena Line doubled in size in 1990 with the acquisition of Sealink British Ferries from Sea Containers Ltd.

In 1996, Stena Line introduced its 20, 000 tonne HSS ( High-speed Sea Service ) vessels, which operated from Belfast to Stranraer, Holyhead to Dún Laoghaire and Hoek van Holland to Harwich.

In November 2006, Stena ordered a pair of " super ferries " with a gross tonnage of 62, 000 from Aker Yards Germany for delivery in 2010, with an option for two more ships of the same design.

In July 2009, Stena Line announced that it had repurchased its former ship, Stena Parisien, from SeaFrance.

At Swansea / Cardiff there is a connecting Arriva Trains Wales boat train to / from Fishguard Harbour railway station for the Stena Line ferry to Rosslare Europort in Ireland.

Passenger ferries operate to and from Fishguard ( Stena Line ) and Pembroke Dock ( Irish Ferries ) in Wales, and to Cherbourg and Roscoff in France.

As of March 10, 2011, the Smallwood has been retired to make way for the MV Blue Puttees and MV Highlanders which are on a 5 year charter from Stena Line.

DART to Dún Laoghaire connects with Stena Line ferries from the Ferry Terminal to Holyhead, with connecting trains along the North Wales Coast Line to Bangor ( Gwynedd ) railway station, Llandudno Junction, Colwyn Bay, Rhyl, Prestatyn, Chester, Crewe and stations to London Euston.

The river has two main tributaries in its upper course: the Black Osam takes its source from the foot of Levski Peak in the Balkan Mountains, at an altitude of, while the White Osam has its source on the northern slopes of the Kozya Stena peak.

Its status as a ferry port looks to be secured, with P & O Irish Sea continuing to depart from Cairnryan and Stena Line operating from a new terminal at Old House Point.

The HSC Stena Voyager | Stena Voyager is a catamaran that provides a fast ferry service across the Irish sea.

The port now accommodates a ferry and seasonal fast catamaran service to Rosslare operated by Stena Line.

The new ferries are to be delivered in 2010, with the Stena Hollandica having entered service on May 16, 2010, and the Stena Britannica planned to enter service in the fall of 2010.

These connect with the Stena Line ferry to Rosslare Harbour in Ireland with a daily morning and evening service in both directions.

Twice-daily container service continued until 2004 when Stena Line bought the route and increased the service to three times a day .< ref name =" P & O001 ">
