The Soviet Union came into being under the treaty of union in December 1922, which was signed by Russia and three other union republics – Belarus, Ukraine, and what was then the Transcaucasian Soviet Federated Socialist Republic ( an entity including what is now Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia ).

On December 29, 1922 a conference of plenipotentiary delegations from the Russian SFSR, the Transcaucasian SFSR, the Ukrainian SSR and the Byelorussian SSR approved the Treaty of Creation of the USSR and the Declaration of the Creation of the USSR, forming the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.

In 1922, the BSSR was one of the four founding members of the Soviet Union, together with the Ukrainian SSR, the Transcaucasian SFSR and the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic ( RSFSR ).

In late 1920, the communists came to power following an invasion of Armenia by the Red Army, and in 1922, Armenia became part of the Transcaucasian SFSR of the Soviet Union, later forming the Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic ( 1936 to September 21, 1991 ).

On 12 March 1922, under heavy pressure from Moscow, the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenian, and Georgian Soviet Socialist Republics established a union known as the Transcaucasian SFSR.

The 1924 Soviet Constitution legitimated the December 1922 Treaty on the Creation of the USSR between the Russian SFSR, the Ukrainian SSR, the Belarusian SSR, and the Transcaucasian SFSR to form the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.

It vanished when Democratic Republic of Armenia was incorporated into the Transcaucasian Socialist Federative Soviet Republic.

The manat replaced the first Transcaucasian ruble at par and was replaced by the second Transcaucasian ruble after Azerbaijan became part of the Transcaucasian Soviet Federal Socialist Republic.

Armenia became independent from the Transcaucasian Democratic Federative Republic on 28 May 1918 as the Democratic Republic of Armenia ( DRA ).

The Transcaucasian Democratic Federative Republic ( TDFR, Закавказская демократическая Федеративная Республика ( ЗКДФР ), Zakavkazskaya Demokraticheskaya Federativnaya Respublika ( ZKDFR ), also known as the Transcaucasian Federation ) ( February 1918 – May 1918 ), was a short-lived state composed of the modern-day countries of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia in the South Caucasus.

That flag existed only for a month, because on March 12 the Armenian SSR united with the Georgian SSR and the Azerbaijan SSR under the Transcaucasian SFSR ( TSFSR ), that was split again into these three republics in 1936.

After the February Revolution, the Russian Provisional Government installed the Special Transcaucasian Committee ( особый Закавказский Комитет ( ОЗАКОМ ), osobyy Zakavkazskiy Komitet ( OZAKOM )) to govern the area.

The Tat people ( also: Tati, Parsi, Daghli, Lohijon, Caucasian Persians, Transcaucasian Persians ) are an Iranian people, presently living within Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Russia ( mainly Southern Dagestan ).

Russia also gained considerable land in the Transcaucasian, nowadays located in the western part of Georgia.

They also enlisted the support of the Georgian Mensheviks and the " Transcaucasian Sejm ".

The type was also used in Mexico, New Zealand and Russia on Transcaucasian Railway.

Over the course of the campaign, the Soviets also fielded the Voronezh Front, Don Front, Stalingrad Front, Transcaucasian Front, and the Caucasian Front, though not all existed at the same time.

Teishebaini ( also Teshebani, modern Karmir Blur () referring more to the hill that the fortress is located upon ) was the capital of the Urartian Transcaucasian provinces.
