The first works attributed to Masaccio are the San Giovenale Triptych ( 1422 ) and the Virgin and Child with Saint Anne ( Sant ' Anna Metterza ) ( c. 1424 ) at the Uffizi.

Surviving artworks from the former period include for an altarpiece, The Virgin and Child with Saints and Donors, or the Donne Triptych as painted by Hans Memling in circa 1478.

Meyerson Symphony Center, Dallas ; a 1989 sculpture for the headquarters of Nestlé in Vevey, Switzerland ; Gaul ( 1993 ), a monumental sculpture commissioned by the Institute d ' Art Contemporain, Nîmes, France ; a two-part memorial for the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, Washington, D. C., in 1993 ; and large-scale Berlin panels for the Deutscher Bundestag, Berlin, in 1998.

Abbot Wibald ( ruled 1130 – 58 ) was one of the greatest patrons of the arts in the 12th century ; the Stavelot Triptych of gilded copper and enamels, which contained two fragments of the True Cross, was produced for the Abbey during his rule ( about 1156 ).

But small ivory reliefs, almost all in the iconic mode ( the Harbaville Triptych is of similar date to the Paris Psalter, but very different in style ), were a speciality, as was relief decoration on bowls and other metal objects.
