The largest ethnic group of non-German origin are the Turkish.

Turkish is a member of the Oghuz group of languages, a subgroup of the Turkic languages.

The " Young Europe " movement also inspired a group of young Turkish army cadets and students who, later in history, named themselves the " Young Turks ".
