The United Church of Christ ( UCC ) is the result of a union constructed according to congregationalist theory between the Evangelical and Reformed Church and the Congregational Christian Churches.

The application of the statute of frauds to dealings between merchants has been modified by provisions of the Uniform Commercial Code, which is a statute that has been enacted at least in part by every state ( Louisiana has enacted all of the UCC except for Article 2, as it prefers to maintain its civil law tradition governing the sale of goods ).

The Universal Copyright Convention ( or UCC ), adopted at Geneva in 1952, is one of the two principal international conventions protecting copyright ; the other is the Berne Convention.

Thus any state which adopts the Berne Convention is penalised if it then decides to renounce it and use the UCC protections instead, since its copyrights might no longer exist in Berne Convention states.

However, the " official " UCC is a mere draft that must be enacted individually by each of the U. S. states.

The Community Church is a member of the United Church of Christ ( UCC ) and the American Baptist Association, and it retains a united congregation using both buildings.

It was renamed the Brookline Community Church in 2005 and is affiliated with both the UCC and UMC conferences.

Main Street is also the location of both churches: St. Thomas's UCC, and Evangelical Lutheran Friedens Church.

In the United States, the Uniform Commercial Code ( UCC § 3-110-Identification of Person to Whom Instrument is Payable ) states that

The Uniform Commercial Code ( UCC or the Code ), first published in 1952, is one of a number of uniform acts that have been promulgated in conjunction with efforts to harmonize the law of sales and other commercial transactions in all 50 states within the United States of America.

The UCC is the longest and most elaborate of the uniform acts.

Once enacted by a state, the UCC is codified into the state ’ s code of statutes.

For example, Louisiana jurisprudence refers to the major subdivisions of the UCC as “ chapters ” instead of articles, since the term “ articles ” is used in that state to refer to provisions of the Louisiana Civil Code.

The chief joint ALI-NCCUSL project is the Uniform Commercial Code ( UCC ), which the Institute has been developing and revising with the National Conference since the 1940s.

The UCC was developed by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization as an alternative to the Berne Convention for those states which disagreed with aspects of the Berne Convention, but still wished to participate in some form of multilateral copyright protection.

However, Bayer also uses the UCC process at the chemical plant once owned by UCC at Institute, West Virginia, USA and many other states.

Reports issued months before the incident by UCC engineers warned of the possibility of an incident almost identical to that which occurred in Bhopal.

UCC was warned by American experts who visited the plant after 1981 of the potential of a " runaway reaction " in the MIC storage tank.

Local Indian authorities warned the company of the problems on several occasions from 1979 onward but constructive actions were not undertaken by the UCC.

UCC also maintains that this route was not possible, but instead alleges water was introduced directly into the tank as an act of sabotage by a disgruntled worker via a connection to a missing pressure gauge on the top of the tank.

UCIL's investigation team found no evidence of the necessary connection ; however, the investigation was totally controlled by the government, denying UCC investigators access to the tank or interviews with the operators.

The closing of the plant to outsiders ( including UCC ) by the Indian government and the failure to make data public contributed to the confusion.

When UCC wanted to sell its shares in UCIL, it was directed by the Supreme Court to finance a 500-bed hospital for the medical care of the survivors.

UCC claims the plant staff falsified numerous records to distance themselves from the incident, and that the Indian Government impeded its investigation and declined to prosecute the employee responsible, presumably because that would weaken its allegations of negligence by Union Carbide.

UCC also provided a $ 2. 2 million grant to Arizona State University to establish a vocational-technical center in Bhopal, which was opened, but was later closed by the state government.

UCC Chairman, CEO Warren Anderson was arrested and released on bail by the Madhya Pradesh Police in Bhopal on 7 December 1984.

In the view of UCC, " the ruling reaffirms UCC's long-held positions and finally puts to rest — both procedurally and substantively — the issues raised in the class action complaint first filed against Union Carbide in 1999 by Haseena Bi and several organizations representing the residents of Bhopal ".

The area around the plant was used as a dumping ground for hazardous chemicals and by 1982 water wells in the vicinity of the UCC factory had to be abandoned.

UCC states that " after the incident, UCIL began clean-up work at the site under the direction of Indian central and state government authorities ", which was continued after 1994 by the successor to UCIL, Eveready Industries, until 1998, when it was placed under the authority of the Madhya Pradesh Government.

Laboratory replication studies by CSIR and UCC scientists failed to detect any HCN or HCN-derived side products.

For example, goods may be manufactured in State A, warehoused in State B, sold from State C and delivered in State D. The UCC therefore achieved the goal of substantial uniformity in commercial laws and, at the same time, allowed the states the flexibility to meet local circumstances by modifying the UCC's text as enacted in each state.

The most recent revision of UCC § 2-201 increases the triggering point for the UCC Statute of Frauds to $ 5, 000, but as of 2006 no U. S. state has adopted revised Section 201.

UCC admitted in their own investigation report that most of the safety systems were not functioning on the night of 3 December 1984.

Louisiana has enacted most provisions of the UCC, with the exception of Article 2, preferring to maintain its own civil law tradition for governing the sale of goods.

The two most common types of kidney cancer are renal cell carcinoma ( RCC ) and urothelial cell carcinoma ( UCC ) of the renal pelvis.

Given this scenario, many more of the remaining advocates may well defect to more conservative groups also, leaving the UCC as perhaps the U. S .' most politically and theologically liberal Christian group.

However, Article 6 has been repealed by most states, in favor of revisions to other provisions of the UCC that apply to sales and secured transactions.
