The security of Mr. McMahon's Corporation, The Big Boss Man, challenged the Ministry to a six-man tag team match which ended in a no contest when the Ministry abducted Shane McMahon and took him to Undertaker, who threatened him while choking him then gave him a letter to give to his father.

The Undertaker continued to feud with Kane and Stone Cold Steve Austin, which involved several controversial segments in which the Undertaker hit Austin in the head with a shovel giving him a concussion ( storyline ), and the following week the Undertaker and Paul Bearer attacked, sedated Austin with ether and abducted Austin out of his hospital room, put Austin in a hearse, took Austin to a cemetery of some sort, attempted to have Austin buried alive, then Undertaker changed his mind and he and Paul Bearer took Austin to a funeral home and tried to have Austin embalmed alive.

At the Royal Rumble 1999 show, the group of Undertaker, Mideon, and The Acolytes abducted the 485-pound Mabel, who was renamed Viscera the following night on Raw Is War, and turned him to the Undertaker's side.

Certain colours of lighting have been associated with specific wrestlers ; for instance, blue lighting for Undertaker, green lighting for Triple H, D-Generation X, and Shane McMahon, red and orange lighting for Kane, multicoloured lighting for John Morrison, gold lighting for Goldust, pink lighting for Val Venis, and so forth.

McMahon began appearing regularly on WWE in 1999 as a part of a storyline with The Undertaker.

In early 1999, at the suggestion of WWF writer Vince Russo, Stephanie McMahon debuted as the sweet and innocent daughter of Vince McMahon during an on-screen storyline involving Vince and The Undertaker.

Afterward, Triple H brought out many current and retired superstars to thank Flair for all he has done, including Shawn Michaels, some of the Four Horsemen, Harley Race, and Chris Jericho, followed by The Undertaker and then Vince McMahon.

After Raw went off the air, most of the people who were backstage came out to honor Flair, including Vince McMahon, the Undertaker, Shane, and Stephanie McMahon.

In response, McMahon set up a Triple Threat match at Breakdown: In Your House, where The Undertaker and Kane pinned Austin at the same time.

McMahon decided to vacate the WWF Championship and award it based on a match between The Undertaker and Kane, in which Austin was the guest referee.

However, after he won it, The Undertaker came and hit him with the title belt, leading to a First Blood match between the two at Fully Loaded where Mr. McMahon stipulated that if Austin lost he would never be able to wrestle for the WWF Championship again, and if Austin won, he would never see McMahon again.

Austin won after interference from X-Pac, hitting The Undertaker with a TV camera and gave McMahon a goodbye Stone Cold Stunner.

The Brood briefly feuded with, then joined, The Undertaker's Ministry of Darkness, but upon learning that Christian was beaten into telling Ken Shamrock the whereabouts of Stephanie McMahon, The Undertaker punished Christian by flogging him.

In November 2003 at Survivor Series, Kane defeated Shane McMahon in an Ambulance match then during the latter event, he interfered and buried The Undertaker alive in the Undertaker's match with Vince McMahon.

Kane stated that he watched Undertaker show compassion by defending Stephanie McMahon ( during her feud with Vince McMahon ) and show weakness in losing to Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship at No Mercy.

Notable storylines and characters during Russo's run as head writer include the Steve Austin vs. Mr. McMahon feud, The Undertaker vs. Kane feud, D-Generation X, the rise of The Rock, and the Mick Foley saga.

Undertaker began delivering ambiguous apocalyptic messages, but after recruiting Mabel, now Viscera ( Nelson Frazier, Jr .) and The Brood he began to be more direct, revealing his plan to attack Mr. McMahon and take over the World Wrestling Federation.

McMahon replied the following week on February 22 by booking The Undertaker in an Inferno match with Kane on Raw is War, the first network television airing of that type of match.

During the match McMahon provided commentary, nonchalantly revealing he had placed Undertaker in a Hell in a Cell match against Big Boss Man for WrestleMania.

After Undertaker set Kane on fire, he turned to the enraged McMahon, taking the teddy bear ( later revealed to belong to an as yet unmentioned Stephanie McMahon ) and setting alight to it reducing Vince to his knees.

Test later formed a stable, " The Un-Americans " along with Lance Storm, Christian, and William Regal, culminating in a match at Summerslam where The Undertaker defeated Martin.

At Bragging Rights, Kane once again defeated Undertaker after interference by Bearer, who was almost thrown in the grave by Undertaker, and Nexus, who helped Bearer and Kane bury Undertaker.

Trying to defeat either of his problems, McMahon declared he'd never show such weakness again and put Mankind against Undertaker which ended with Undertaker almost chokeslamming McMahon through the announce table until Boss Man saved him.

Her team " the Alliance " consisting of her brother Shane, former WCW Champion Booker T., Rob Van Dam, Kurt Angle and Steve Austin was defeated by " Team WWF " consisting of The Undertaker, Kane, Big Show, Chris Jericho & The Rock at the Survivor Series in a five-on-five, Winner Takes All elimination match.

The following week, Edge verbally assaulted Guerrero, before he forced her to apologize to The Undertaker for what she did to him.

In mid-1999, the Corporation began feuding with The Undertaker and his Ministry of Darkness, with The Undertaker's minions repeatedly ambushing Shamrock and kidnapping Ryan, sacrificing her on the Undertaker's symbol.

As revenge on Shamrock for ruining his plans, Undertaker ordered The Ministry to abduct Ken's " sister ", Ryan, and " sacrifice " her on one of his symbols.

The Undertaker attempted to sacrifice her the following night but the sacrifice was disrupted by Stone Cold Steve Austin.

The second time she was kidnapped, The Undertaker attempted to marry her whilst she was forcefully tied to the Ministry's crucifix, but she was saved by Stone Cold Steve Austin.

In the middle of the feud, however, Hardy faced The Undertaker in a Hardcore Championship match and lost.

Brother Love pleaded with The Undertaker to forgive Big Show for his recent actions, but The Undertaker however wasn't pleased and gave Brother Love a chokeslam, followed up by a Tombstone Piledriver in the middle of the ring.

Some of the bigger stars in the industry, such as Shawn Michaels, Triple H, The Undertaker, and The Sandman, can perform ring entrances lasting up to three minutes or more.

At WrestleMania XIV he served as " guest ring announcer " during a match between Kane and the Undertaker, before which he took a Tombstone Piledriver from Kane ( nicknamed " The Big Red Machine " for his red ring attire ).

Professional wrestlers, more often than not, perform under ring names depicting alter egos, such as Terry Bollea ( Hulk Hogan ), Mark Calaway ( The Undertaker ), Paul Levesque ( Triple H ), Mike Mizanin ( The Miz ) and Phillip Brooks ( CM Punk ).

The Undertaker defeated Edge, and after the match, Undertaker chokeslammed Edge off the top of a ladder and through the ring canvas, with flames rising from the hole.

The lights turned out but this time, the 10, 000 pound wrestling ring lifted off the ground with Kane standing in it and tilted side ways, which would be the final message sent from the Undertaker before their match at WrestleMania XX.

Undertaker attempted a clothesline from the top turnbuckle, however Wight caught him and delivered a chokeslam, which sent Undertaker crashing through the ring mat ; the referee was forced to stop the match so The Undertaker retained his title.

Following the match, Big Show and Kane attacked Mysterio until The Undertaker chased them from the ring.

Orton fled the ring after the Undertaker began to fill the arena with smoke, and didn't sign the contract.

As Undertaker's manager, as a heel and later a face for over five years, he was a mentor to The Undertaker, playing a major role in his entrances by guiding him to the ring, undoing his tie, and collecting his trench coat and hat.

While some ring names may have a fictitious first name and surname, others may simply be a nickname, such as The Undertaker.

In interviews, Bret Hart has regularly referred to Mark Calaway, Curt Hennig, Kevin Nash by their ring names Undertaker, Mr. Perfect and Diesel, among others.

The Undertaker makes his in ring return after an eight month absence.

One ( in ) famous example is when Mick Foley, under his ring name Mankind, was wrestling The Undertaker in a Hell in a Cell match.

Maven eliminated The Undertaker from the 2002 Royal Rumble by dropkicking him from behind ; Undertaker responded in turn by returning to the ring and tossing Maven out of the ring, hitting him with a steel chair, and beating him all the way back to the concession stand area.

Although he did not win the match, he was impressive enough that when Cena attacked Jordan after the match was over, The Undertaker, with whom Cena was feuding, came to the ring and helped Jordan to his feet.

However the referees did not see this, as they were attending to Terry Funk and Mankind on the floor, allowing Austin to sneak back into the ring and eliminate both Vader and Undertaker, then Bret Hart, who was busy eliminating Fake Diesel, and win the Rumble.
