In the 20th century it was reintroduced, and Venerable Pope Pius XII ( 1939 – 58 ) announced his beatification on 7 October 1956.

This devotion ( started by Sister Marie and then promoted by the Venerable Leo Dupont ) was approved by Pope Leo XIII in 1885.

He was declared Venerable in 1995 by Pope John Paul II.

Since 24 January 1956, the Archbishop of Québec has the ceremonial title of Primate of Canada ; the title was given to the reigning Archbishop of Québec by the Venerable Servant of God Pope Pius XII.

He was declared Venerable by Pope Clement XIII on 8 February 1759 and beatified by Pope Leo XIII on 12 November 1893.

It was founded in 1530 by three Italian noblemen: St. Anthony Mary Zaccaria ( S. Antonio Maria Zaccaria ), Venerable Barthalomew Ferrari ( Bartolomeo Ferrari ), and Venerable James Morigia ( Giacomo Antonio Morigia ), and approved by Pope Clement VII in the brief Vota per quae vos in 1533.

Bede ( ; ; 672 / 673 – 26 May 735 ), also referred to as Saint Bede or the Venerable Bede (), was an English monk at the Northumbrian monastery of Saint Peter at Monkwearmouth and of its companion monastery, Saint Paul's, in modern Jarrow ( see Monkwearmouth-Jarrow ), both in the Kingdom of Northumbria.
