Wabeno is a town in Forest County, Wisconsin, United States.

The Wabeno school colors are purple and white.

* Wampano ( also spelled Wappinger, Wampanoo, Wabeno, meaning “ Easterner ”) refers generically to the sub-tribal Renapi / Lenape Dawnland Confederacy, also known today as the Wappinger-Mattabesec Confederacy.

The first forest schools were located in Laona, Wabeno and Crandon, Wisconsin.

In the 2005 Kitzmiller v. Dover Area School District trial, Behe gave testimony on the subject of irreducible complexity.

In the 2005 Kitzmiller v. Dover Area School District trial, Behe testified under oath that he " did not judge asymmetry serious enough to revised the book yet.

While testifying at the Kitzmiller v. Dover Area School District trial Behe conceded that there are no peer-reviewed papers supporting his claims that complex molecular systems, like the bacterial flagellum, the blood-clotting cascade, and the immune system, were intelligently designed nor are there any peer-reviewed articles supporting his argument that certain complex molecular structures are " irreducibly complex.

In the final ruling of Kitzmiller v. Dover Area School District, Judge Jones specifically singled out Behe and irreducible complexity:

Scientists disagreed with the assertion that intelligent design is scientific, and its introduction into the the science curriculum of a Pennsylvania school district led to the 2005 Kitzmiller v. Dover Area School District trial, which ruled that the " intelligent design " arguments are essentially religious in nature and not science.

In 2005 the NCSE assisted the plaintiffs in Kitzmiller v. Dover Area School District, the most prominent case testing the constitutionality of intelligent design in public school science classes, and put their extensive library of creationist materials at the plaintiffs ' disposal.

In November 2007 Scott discussed the NCSE's exploration of intelligent design on the NOVA documentary Judgment Day: Intelligent Design on Trial, which documented Kitzmiller v. Dover Area School District.

This would eventually lead to another court case, Kitzmiller v. Dover Area School District, which went to trial on September 26, 2005 and was decided in U. S. District Court on December 20, 2005 in favor of the plaintiffs, who charged that a mandate that intelligent design be taught was an unconstitutional establishment of religion.
