* Wari culture, Middle Horizon civilization that flourished in Peru

Part of the road network was built by cultures that precede the Inca Empire notably the Wari culture.

( The Wari culture is not to be confused with the modern ethnic group and language known as Wari ', with which it has no known link.

Phases 8 and 9 are now believed to date to the Middle Horizon, reflecting a shift in power from the coast to the highlands with the advent of the Wari culture about 650 CE.

The anthropomorphous sarcophagi resemble imitations of funeral bundles provided with wooden masks typical of the Horizonte Medio, a dominant culture on the coast and highlands, also known as the Tiahuanaco – Huari or Wari culture.

The Quechua-speaking Cabanas, probably descended from the Wari culture, and the Aymara-speaking Collaguas, who moved to the area from the Lake Titicaca region, inhabited the valley in the pre-Inca era.

Using these administrative centers, the Wari greatly influenced the surrounding countryside, creating new fields with terraced field technology and investing in a major road network — both of which were used by the Inca when they began to expand their empire several centuries later.

Following the decline of the Wari Empire in the late first millennium, the Chimú people, centered out of their capital city of Chimor began to build their empire on the north and central coasts of Peru.

At around 500 BC, they were incorporated into the Wari Empire.

The necropolis of Wari Kayan consisted of two clusters of hundreds of burials set closely together inside and around abandoned buildings on the steep north slope of Cerro Colorado.

Many other civilizations developed and were absorbed by the most powerful ones such as Kotosh, Chavin, Paracas, Lima, Nasca, Moche, Tiwanaku, Wari, Lambayeque, Chimu and Chincha, among others.

They consisted of four clans, the Kurnara of the north, the Windera of the east, the Wari of the West and the Dilpa of the south.

Throughout their imperial reign, the Tiwanaku shared domination of the Middle Horizon with the Wari.

Tiwanaku art consisted of legible, outlined figures depicted in curvilinear style with a naturalistic manner, while Wari art used the same symbols in a more abstract, rectilinear style with a militaristic manner.

Other languages combined the Arabic word qurbān with local terms for " festival ", as in Kurdish ( Cejna Qurbanê ), Pashto ( Kurbaneyy Akhtar ), Chinese ( 古尔邦节 Gúěrbāng Jié ), Malay and Indonesian ( Hari Raya Korban, Qurbani ), Filipino ( Araw ng Pag-Sasakripisyo ), and Turkish ( Kurban Bayramı ). Azeri ( Qurban Bayramı ), Tatar ( Qorban Bäyräme ), Bosnian ( Kurban bajram ), Albanian ( Bajramin e Kurbanit ), Croatian ( Kurban-bajram ), Serbian ( Курбан бајрам ), Russian ( Курбан-байрам ), ( Eid Kurbani Wari ) in Sindhi.

The OVA is based on short story Wari to Hima na Sentaichou no Ichi Nichi in short story collection Dounimo Naranai Gori Muchuu.

Much of the system was the result of the Incas claiming exclusive right over numerous traditional routes, some of which had been constructed centuries earlier mostly by the Wari Empire.

From 500 to 900 CE, the region became occupied by the Huari Culture ( Wari ), which became known as the first expansionist empire based in the Andes before the Incas.

The Ayacucho region was inhabited by varying indigenous cultures for thousands of years, including the Wari, Chanka people, and Nasca before the Inca.

The city was founded near an important prehistoric archaeological site, the Northern Wari ruins, which constitute the remains of a city from the 7th-12th century Wari Empire.

The Wari ', also known as the Pakaa Nova, are an indigenous people of Brazil, living in seven villages in the Amazon rainforest in the state of Rondônia.

Europeans at one time used the name " Pakaa Nova " to refer to the Wari ', because of the location where they first encountered each other.

However, the people themselves prefer to be referred to by outsiders as " Wari '", a word in their language, meaning " us " or " people.

" They are also known as the Jaru, Oro Wari, Pacaas-Novos, Pacahanovo, Pakaanova, Pakaanovas, Uari, and Uomo.

The Wari ' speak the Pakaásnovos language, which belongs to the Txapakura, or Chapacura-Wanham language family.

Along with the Torá, the Moré ( or Itenes ) and the Oro Win, the Wari ' are the last of the Txapakura linguistic group.

Early on, the Wari expanded their territory to include the ancient oracle center of Pachacamac, though it seems to have remained largely autonomous.

During this expansion, the Wari state established architecturally distinctive administrative centers in many of its provinces — these centres are clearly different from the architecture of Tiwanaku, which is believed to have been a more federalized state by some scholars ( such as John W. Janusek ).

Before the Spanish conquest it was populated by the Incas, Chancas and Wari peoples who have left numerous archeological sites in the area.

) Wari, as the former capital city was called, is located north-east of the modern city of Ayacucho, Peru.

The best-preserved remnants, beside the Wari Ruins, are the recently discovered Northern Wari ruins near the city of Chiclayo, and Cerro Baul in Moquegua.
