In 1921, the Historical Committee of the Wenham Village Improvement Society encouraged the society to buy the 17th-century Claflin-Richards house at the center of town.

Until recent years, Indian artifacts were found frequently throughout Wenham, and a representative collection in the possession of the Wenham Museum.

Some ice came from the Kennebec and Penobscot Rivers in Maine, but most centered around Fresh Pond, Cambridge ; Smith's Pond, Arlington ; Spy Pond, Arlington ; Sandy Pond, Ayer ; Horn Pond, Woburn ; Lake Quannapowitt, Spot Pond and Doleful Pond in Stoneham, Wakefield ; Haggett's Pond, Andover ; Suntaug Lake, Lynnfield, Wenham Lake, Wenham and Jamaica Pond in Jamaica Plain where, in 1880, there were 22 icehouses storing 30, 000 tons of ice.

It is said without undue exaggeration that no dinner party in London was considered complete without ice from Wenham Lake.

Wenham was also a member of the first professional organization dedicated to aeronautics, the Royal Aeronautical Society of the United Kingdom.

Francis Herbert Wenham ( 1824 – 1908 ), a Council Member of the Aeronautical Society of Great Britain, addressed these issues by inventing, designing and operating the first enclosed wind tunnel in 1871.

The Society sponsored the first wind tunnel in 1870-71, designed by Wenham and Browning.

The first person to experiment in this fashion was Francis Herbert Wenham, who in doing so constructed the first wind tunnel in 1871.

Gordon Wenham in his commentary on Leviticus expresses the idea that Christianity removed the need for animal sacrifice in these words: " With the death of Christ the only sufficient " burnt offering " was offered once and for all, and therefore the animal sacrifices which foreshadowed Christ's sacrifice were made obsolete.
