* 2006 – Chencholai bombing in which 61 Tamil girls are killed in Sri Lankan Airforce bombing.

* 1986 – In retaliation for the April 5 bombing in West Berlin that killed two U. S. servicemen, U. S. president Ronald Reagan orders major bombing raids against Libya, killing 60 people.

* 1986 – Three people are killed in the bombing of the La Belle Discothèque in West Berlin, Germany.

Heschel's sister Esther was killed in a German bombing.

On 4 February 2008 an Israeli woman was killed and 38 others injured in the town by a Palestinian suicide bomber ( see Dimona bombing ).

1654 civilians were killed according to the official Basque figures, but the German sources report a round figure of 300 civilians killed in the bombing, according to the German Bundeswehr Magazine ( published in April 2007, page 94 ).

* The 1983 Beirut barracks bombing ( by the Islamic Jihad Organization ), that killed 241 U. S. marines, 58 French paratroopers and 6 civilians at the US and French barracks in Beirut

Argentine prosecutor Alberto Nisman, Marcelo Martinez Burgos, and their " staff of some 45 people " said that Hezbollah and their contacts in Iran were responsible for the 1994 bombing of a Jewish cultural center in Argentina, in which " ighty-five people were killed and more than 200 others injured.

The residential areas were also targeted and more than 6, 000 people were killed in the Allied bombing raids.

As of June 2006 32 Italian troops have been killed in Iraq – with the greatest single loss of life coming on November 12, 2003 – a suicide car bombing of the Italian Carabinieri Corps HQ left a dozen Carabinieri, five Army soldiers, two Italian civilians, and eight Iraqi civilians dead.

* 2001 – A federal grand jury in Alexandria, Virginia, indicts 13 Saudis and a Lebanese in the 1996 bombing of the Khobar Towers in Saudi Arabia that killed 19 American servicemen.

* 2008 – 56 people are killed and over 200 people are injured in 21 bomb blasts in Ahmedabad bombing in India.

In the December 2011 Ashura bombing over 70 civilians were killed and over 160 injured.

It was the deadliest car bombing in Lebanon since June 18, 1985, when an explosion in the northern Lebanese port of Tripoli killed sixty people and wounded 110.

On 13 November 2001, a German court found four persons, including a former employee of the Libyan embassy in East Berlin, guilty in connection with the 1986 Berlin discotheque bombing, in which 229 people were injured and two U. S. servicemen were killed.

* 1940 – First person killed in a German bombing raid on the UK in World War II during a raid on Scapa Flow in the Orkney Islands, James Isbister.

Although the President was unharmed, 21 people were killed in the bombing, including the South Korean deputy Prime Minister, and Burma suspended diplomatic relations in response.

* 2003 – Maxim restaurant suicide bombing in Haifa, Israel: 21 Israelis, Jews and Arabs, are killed, and 51 others wounded.

McVeigh initially intended only to destroy a federal building, but he later decided that his message would be better received if many people were killed in the bombing.

Although it was initially believed to be from a male, it was later determined to be that of Lakesha Levy, a female member of the Air Force who was killed in the bombing.

As in previous years, the tenth anniversary of the bombing observances began with a service at 9: 02 am CST, marking the moment the bomb went off, with the traditional 168 seconds of silence — one second for each person who was killed as a result of the blast.

He was assassinated, probably at the instigation of al-Qaeda, in a suicide bombing on September 9, 2001, just two days before the September 11 attacks that finally caused the US and NATO to intervene in Afghanistan, allying themselves with Massoud's forces.

The majority of bombing was still done by one-engined biplanes with one or two crew-members flying short distances to attack the enemy lines and immediate hinterland.

* 1978 – Hilton bombing: a bomb explodes in a refuse truck outside the Hilton Hotel in Sydney, Australia, killing two refuse collectors and a policeman.

Another form is the " throw-up ", also known as a " bombing " which is normally painted very quickly with two or three colors, sacrificing aesthetics for speed.

The downing of these two airliners along with the 1986 Berlin discotheque bombing seemed to establish a pattern of reprisal attacks — in the form of terrorist bombings — by Libya or at least Libyan agents.

In 1991, two Libyan intelligence agents were indicted by prosecutors in the United States and United Kingdom for their involvement in the December 1988 bombing of Pan Am Flight 103.

In November 1991, two Libyan intelligence agents, Abdelbaset al-Megrahi and Lamin Khalifah Fhimah, were charged with the December 1988 Lockerbie bombing.

The Libyan government eventually surrendered the two Lockerbie bombing suspects in 1999 for trial at the Scottish Court in the Netherlands and UN sanctions were suspended.

* 2011 – In the 2011 Charsadda bombing in the Charsadda District of Pakistan, two bombs explode, resulting in 98 deaths 140 wounded.

" After Snell's appeal for murdering two people in unrelated cases was denied, he was executed the same day as the Murrah bombing.

The first was international terrorists, possibly the same group that had carried out the World Trade Center bombing two years earlier.

In addition to arguing that the bombing could not have been carried out by two men alone, Jones also attempted to create reasonable doubt by arguing that no one had seen McVeigh near the scene of the crime, and that the investigation into the bombing had lasted only two weeks.

The operator of the Dreamland Motel testified that two Ryder trucks had been parked outside her Grandview Plaza motel where McVeigh stayed in Room 26 the weekend before the bombing.

" Napalm is the most terrible pain you can imagine ," said Kim Phúc, a napalm bombing survivor known from a famous Vietnam War photograph.

South Korea accused Kim of ordering the 1983 bombing in Rangoon, Burma ( now Yangon, Myanmar ), which killed 17 visiting South Korean officials, including four cabinet members, and another in 1987 which killed all 115 on board Korean Air Flight 858.

The male of the pair died, but the female, Kim Hyon Hui, confessed to the bombing.

" Kim then " threw herself into the arms of a female investigator " and confessed to the bombing.

She also said that the order for the bombing had been " personally penned " by Kim Jong-il, the son of North Korean President Kim Il-sung, who had wanted to destabilize the South Korean government, disrupt its upcoming elections and frighten international teams from attending the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, later that year.

Kim was subsequently sentenced to execution for the bombing of KAL 858, but she was later pardoned by the President of South Korea, Roh Tae-woo.

Kim's testimony implicated Kim Jong-il, the son of President of North Korea | North Korean President Kim Il-sung, to be ultimately responsible for the bombing.

In the book, Kim states that Kim Jong-il masterminded the bombing, and gave her the order to carry out the attack.

It is also believed that Kim Jong-il masterminded the Rangoon bombing of 1983, in which North Korea attempted to assassinate then-South Korean President Chun Doo-hwan.
