The town we now call Accrington covers two townships which were established in 1507 following disafforestation ; those of Old Accrington and New Accrington which were merged in 1878 with the incorporation of the borough council.

The trackbed from Accrington to Baxenden is now a linear treelined cycleway / footpath. As of November 2011 Hyndburn borough council has plans to re-open the rail link to manchester.

Anomalously, the city of Kilkenny is the only city in the Republic not to have a " city council "; it is still a borough but not a county borough and is administered by its eponymous county council.

Within the borough of Hillingdon, Ickenham has its own ward, with Conservative Councillors John Hensley, Raymond Puddifoot and David Simmons representing it.

One of the political wards in Camden is called St Pancras and Somers Town ; however, ward boundaries are chosen to divide a borough into roughly equal slices with little regard to historical boundaries or day-to-day usage.

It gives its name to a ward in the borough and to the St Andrew, Totteridge ecclesiastical parish of the Diocese of St Albans.

With the Winchmore Hill conservation area as a focal point, Winchmore Hill is a ward of Enfield borough, bounded on the east by Green Lanes ( the A105 road ), Barrowell Green, Firs Lane and Fords Grove, and on the west by Grovelands Park ; in the south it extends to part of Aldermans Hill, and in the north to Vicars Moor Lane and Houndsden Road.

Latchford is a suburban district and electoral ward of the unitary borough of Warrington, in Cheshire, England.
