Fermanagh District Council is the only one of the 26 district councils in Northern Ireland that contains all of the county it is named after.

The last imigrants were the jo Kager who are related to the omollo luo and their leader was ochieng waljak ger a formidable leader who with advanced military skill drove a way the omiya or bantu tribes who were then living in present day ugenya around 1750AD

The Gaberoun oasis, on a spring fed lake, is a rustic tourist resort and the site of Bedouin village ruins that is located in the district near Sabha city.
