The comic book sequel mini-series Shattered Visage ( 1988 ) opens with the text of a classified intelligence report on the Village.

Then, in October 2008, it was reported that AMC and Jonathan Hensleigh had teamed up and were planning to develop a television mini-series based on Red Mars.

Launching in October 2010, JLA / The 99 was a crossover mini-series featuring the Justice League teaming up with the heroes of Teshkeel Comics ' The 99 series.

The mini-series features the post-Infinite Crisis Legion and Superman teaming up with the " Reboot " and " Threeboot " incarnations of the Legion to fight Superboy-Prime, the Legion of Super-Villains, and the Time Trapper.

In 2001, Azzarello and Corben teamed up to create Marvel's Startling Stories: Banner ( a four issue mini-series exploring Doc Samson's relationship with Bruce Banner ) and Marvel Max's Cage ( a five issue mini-series starring Luke Cage ).

Malibu Comics published a 4 issue mini-series in 1989 called Sinbad, and followed that up with another 4 issue mini-series called Sinbad Book II: In the House of God in 1991.

The Intruder was an eight episode mini-series that aired during Toonami from September 18, 2000 up until September 27, 2000.

Deathwish was first introduced in issue 5 going up against Hardware ; Deathwish appeared in Hardware six times and got his own 4 issue spinoff mini-series in December, 1994.

Other notable works included the 1995 mini-series, Hiroshima, about the events leading up to the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, which won a Canadian Gemini Award and was nominated for an American Emmy, as well as earlier films One Man ( 1977 ), presented at the Cannes Film Festival ; Drying Up the Streets ( 1978 ); and Suzanne ( 1980 ).

CrossGen tried to wrap up all the dangling storylines in the Negation: War mini-series.

In January 2008, Dark Horse Comics began releasing a four-part monthly comic book mini-series based on Evil Dead, written by Mark Verheiden, with art by John Bolton, who provided art for the Dark Horse Army of Darkness comic.

During the events of the comic book mini-series Star Trek: Countdown ( which serves as the canonical prequel to the 2009 Star Trek film ), Geordi ( now a commander ) is reunited with Data and Picard during an effort to stop a massive supernova that threatens all of existence.

In 1973, his novel Seventeen Moments of Spring ( 1968 ) was adapted to television as a twelve-part mini-series about the Soviet spy Maksim Isaev operating in wartime Nazi Germany as Max Otto von Stierlitz, charged with preventing a separate peace between Nazi Germany and America which would exclude the USSR.

* Boogeyman ( 1998, Dark Horse Comics ), a four issue mini-series of humorous horror stories ( with Mark Evanier ).

* Space Circus ( 2000, Dark Horse Comics ), four issue mini-series of a boy joining a circus that travels throughout the galaxy ( with Mark Evanier ).

One of the most notable examples is the episode " The Mayflower voyagers " of the 1988 mini-series This is America, Charlie Brown, which ABC has often aired on Thanksgiving Day ( except in 2006 and 2007 ) along with A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.

Hanks is also known for his collaboration with film director Steven Spielberg on Saving Private Ryan and the mini-series Band of Brothers, which launched Hanks also as a successful director, producer and writer.

After two successful film adaptations of Shakespeare, Zeffirelli went on to religious themes, first with a film about the life of St. Francis of Assisi titled Brother Sun, Sister Moon, then his extended mini-series Jesus of Nazareth with an all-star cast.

In 1979, a mini-series entitled World of Krypton was published, providing a great amount of detail into Krypton's history just before its destruction, along with the life story of Jor-El himself.

However, with the advent of the 2005 – 2006 mini-series Infinite Crisis, another continuity-altering storyline, pre-or post-Crisis alone is no longer a definitive identifier ; it is now necessary to make clear which Crisis one is referring to.

* The Girl Who Would Be Death ( 1998 – 1999 ): A four-issue mini-series about a girl who challenges death, written by Caitlín R. Kiernan and illustrated by Dean Ormston with Sean Phillips.

Other plot lines feature Lionel being asked to write an American TV mini-series, Just Two People, based on his early romance with Jean.

In the mini-series, Marvel Zombies, Captain Marvel is seen sitting with Vulture and Hercules ( both infected ) waiting for Iron Man.

He and David Mansfield are co-credited with the music for the 2006 mini-series Broken Trail.

The mini-series, set after the events of Final Crisis, has Hal Jordan leaving the League following the deaths of Batman and Martian Manhunter, as their deaths have caused Hal to seek out a more proactive manner of dealing with super-villains.
