To speed up the construction works, the Polish government in November 1924 signed a contract with the French-Polish Consortium for Gdynia Seaport Construction, which by the end of 1925 had built a small seven-metre-deep harbour, the south pier, part of the north pier, a railway, and had also ordered the trans-shipment equipment.

On the north side of the Nieuwe Waterweg, to the west of the town, is a pier part of which is accessible to pedestrians and cyclists.

Past the Shark River bridge, Route 35 becomes a four-lane divided highway that features an interchange with County Route 40A ( Memorial Drive ), crossing into Neptune City.

Past this interchange, the road continues northwest and intersects the northern terminus of County Route 3, where it also features ramps to County Route 516, which Route 35 passes under just to the north.

U. S. Route 9 and Route 35 split at an interchange ( the former Victory Circle ) that features access to the southbound Garden State Parkway by way of Chevalier Avenue, with Route 35 continuing north on a four-lane divided highway that passes through marshland and crosses the Raritan River on the Victory Bridge into Perth Amboy.

Key features of Lake Champlain from north to south include Isle La Motte, Grand Isle ( with Valcour Island to its west, near the shore ), Button Mould Bay, Crown Point, Ticonderoga, and South Bay, where Skenesborough is located.

Geological features of the region include the volcanic Monte Vulture and the seismic faults in the Melfi and Potenza areas in the north and around Monte Pollino in the south.

One of the distinctive features of the town ’ s growth has been the predominant southward and eastward expansion of its suburbs, with the River Roe flood plain continuing to contain the town to the west and north.

The basalt topped sandstone hill at Scrabo is one of the dominant features of north Down.

The village lies on the north bank of the River Bure, and has many waterside properties, pubs, shops, restaurants, tea-rooms, boat-trips as well as other features to enjoy.

Notable features of the church are the twin towers ( a landmark for miles around ), the Norman nave, the splendid 15th century angel roof in the nave and fine north aisle roof.
