* September 28 – Brixton race riots are sparked with the shooting of Dorothy ' Cherry ' Groce by the Metropolitan Police in Brixton, an area of South London, England.

* Some members of the Blue and Green chariot racing factions in Constantinople are imprisoned for murder, precipitating the Nika riots the next year.

** Gujarat communal riots begin, wherein 97 people are burnt alive or killed in the Naroda Patiya massacre, and 69 in Gulbarg Society massacre in Ahmedabad.

* October 5 – 13 Vendémiaire: Royalist riots in Paris are crushed by troops under Paul Barras and newly reinstalled artillery officer Napoleon Bonaparte.

About 285 people involved with the riots are shot dead by troops.

Farmers are unable to harvest their crops and food shortages bring riots in the city.

* January 29 – 2003 Phnom Penh riots: In Phnom Penh, Cambodia, the Thai embassy is burned and commercial properties of Thai businesses are vandalized.

The results of that missile's explosion are the instant blinding of those who see the explosion, the resultant firestorm caused by the heat wave, and the blast front ; later, the collapse of society, because of radiation sickness, psychological damage, and destroyed infrastructure ; the British Army burns corpses, while police shoot looters during food riots.

Within six months of the Stonewall riots, activists started a city-wide newspaper called Gay ; they considered it necessary because the most liberal publication in the city — The Village Voice — refused to print the word " gay " in GLF advertisements seeking new members and volunteers.

Then in 2005 riots before and after the match happened in Rotterdam and were considered to belong to the worst in the history of Dutch football.

The Stonewall riots are generally considered to be the beginning of the modern gay rights movement, as it was the first time in modern history that a significant body of LGBT people resisted arrest.
